doberman
When using the phunnel bowl I find that I have lots of tobacco left over. Can I re-ad this to the bag or keep it seperate? How should I kkeping this so its not a waste? Also i just tried tangiers and I watched the video on how to pack it but i find after a little while my HUGE clouds are not so huge like 10-15 min. Here is my set up.small phunnel bowl2 quick lite HJ coconutstangiers packed to the topfoil holes poked all overI tried 1 coal and its all small clouds
ColibriDon
If cloud size dies down after a little while with 2 HJ QL coals on top, try splitting one and throwing another half up there. Or just try a whole new coal. Which flavor are you trying? Some flavors seem to take more heat, mint is an example. Flavors like White Grape, however, like less heat. Also try pushing the two coals more toward the center. You can attempt to reuse that tobacco that you have left-over, I guess. However, I have never done this. Usually, I just re-lite the bowl if it's Tangiers--everything else I just toss.

fcbayern
I do like Colibri does, I just smoke the same bowl again and again until its done. I usually dont smoke for more than 1 hour at a time so a bowl of tangiers last about 3-4sessions.as far as clouds, that seems like a heat management issue, probably too little coal. Also is your phunnel an OG? If its chinese it will not hold heat as well and you will need to keep feeding it coal.

Don't be scared of too much heat you can always remove a coal.

Chaz1337
Did you purchase from Hookah-Shisha? If so they only carry Large Chinese phunnels with an option to make it a Tangiers bowl for like a 3 dollar upcharge. So you would know if you had gotten a Tangiers bowl

Or could you use the normal "gasket" that came with your pipe? If its the big thick one, its chinese. If not then it may be OG. How much did u pay, and where did u order it from? doberman
never ordered it. went to the local store and bought it for $80. I use the gasket that came with the pipe. just your normal size. the bowl came from HJ and i never bought a gasket with it. but every thing fits good. xpimpitox
Well I have tried just relighting coals on a Tangier session the flavor isn't all the way there so I end up packing something new. What I do now is just scrape off the top burnt layer and add more or dump back into its container and pack something fresh. I felt extra lazy the other night so I redid my "Tombo Special" (see Orgasmic Tangiers Mix Thread) and added more Tasty Peach to the unburnt layer of Cactus Fruit and it was just as tasty as the first time I did that mix. Laziness FTW
twoapplesplease
I've never tried a mini phunnel but I use strictlly a very small egyptian conservation bowl for tangiers.Tangiers lasts so long I get a solid hour smoking a tiny 30 min bowl with on 1 coco broke in 2.Plus this way no tobacco is leftover. Sonthert
Yeah, just remove the dried top layer and add a new top layer. I'm not real comfortable about putting it back in the tub/bag or whatever, though, but it could be fine. I think you'll lose a lot of cool top flavors and then dilute the top flavor ratio by putting it back in the bag.
combs08
Some people like to re-use it and keep lighting it until it's gone. I would do that but I wouldn't dump it and mix it around with un-smoked baccy. Seems sketchy.
xpimpitox
I beenputting unused tobacco into the tub for about a month or so and it seems to smoke just as fine as before when I would dump whatever I didn't smoke and pack something fresh. Maybe its a case by case basis. /shrug. Edited August 3, 2009 by xpimpitox
AmunRa
I know there are some (few) users here that take the Tangiers out of the bowl and mix it back into their stash when they finish. I have not tried this since I'm worried about spoiling my new tobacco with the old. In all reality, I have a medium phunnel, and I usually smoke alone for about an hour, so I have a lot of good tobacco I throw out. It might be worth getting a seperate jar, emptying out the unused tobacco from your bowl into there when you finish, mix in some new, and trying that out. Let us know how it works. I'd be interested so as not to keep wasting my Tangiers!
