Afire Coals

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

So I am running low on my Cocos...and money is tight, I was looking in to these since I know there was a buzz a while back about them. A few questions,

1. Does anyone know if we still consider them safe since they are labeled as grill charcoal?

2. Anyone still using them?

3. Are they still selling the small box of these guys on amazon? I looked and only found the 30lb box which might be a bit overkill....But if that is all thats left out there I will take it.

Thanks,
Mike

1. Well I've been smoking with them for months, and I'm fine... no funky taste and no off-feeling like quicklights, and people use them so it's as healthy as any other coal.

2. Yup.

3. No idea, but go for a big box... you won't regret it.

For those usin em, would these garden snips be good enough to break those huge suckers?

I read on here that Afires are great when you get a good cut of the coal..

Eh? That wouldn't work, afires are too big/oddly shapen for that. Just give 'em a sharp hit with a machete and they come apart real easy, and pretty clean.

I was mixing up the 30 some dollars for the 18lbs... Its only 7Lbs and 18... I ordered the 7lb which is about 7 boxes of cocos. If I like them I will order the 18 pound asap....who knows how long this company will be around. 18 will last a damn long time even for someone who smokes everyday.
