Heya everybody!

I was wondering if you guys could help me out with my very first setup because I'm totally swamped with all the info. I'm a total newbie and smoked it only once. So i was thinking to hear opinions about packages (hookahs, etc) that have the following:
- has to look awesome and cool so that the girls like it
- stable for the party times
- 3+ hoses so that 3 people may smoke it at the same time right?
- good/nice flavor and easy maintenance
- not too expensive, say below $120
- if in package with smth else, like a tobacco or accessories then even better.

I'm in OC/LA area.

In my opinion, you should skip the multi hose. But if you REALLY want it, go with this:

Acrylic base so it\'s super strong for partying. Mya is a high quality brand... can\'t say enough good things about my QT and Mini Acrylics.

if it is over 30"+ most girls will think it is awesome

don't invite assholes to you party
- 3+ hoses so that 3 people may smoke it at the same time right?
I'm sure everyone else will tell you the same thing, stick to a one hose and just pass it around, K1024 introduced me to the lazy susan hookah device, works great
- good/nice flavor and easy maintenance
if you wash it correctly, no hookah should let off any flavor, except the copper ones(someone correct me if I am naming the wrong metal) as far as easy maintenance, just get a decent quality hookah that will last, as you will see on the boards, most people here flock towards KM, MZ, Mya, or Syrian.
- not too expensive, say below $120
good luck trying to find a nice quality 3 hose for 120. If you stick with a one or maybe two hose, just buy one that you think looks nice. I know a lot of people like the KM ice, amoura, pear, and tri-metal aesthetics
- if in package with smth else, like a tobacco or accessories then even better.
I personally wouldn't bother messing with package deals to much, I like being able to pick out my own stuff.

Here is my setup that works really well for me:
34" KM ice with KM leather wrapped hose
Small Tangiers phunnel bowl
CH Quick Light coals
My go to shisha is Layalina right now, its cheap and generally smokes extremely well. A bit more expensive, but really good quality shisha is the Tangiers lucid line.

If you get a phunnel bowl, make sure it is a Tangiers and NOT chinese. the chinese phunnels are shit.

This is pretty well the same info anyone on the boards will tell you, I just probably was the first one to read your post and decide to type it all out. I am not trying to promote KM by any means, but it is the only hookah I own, so I can't really give you opinions on any others. Well, I have smoked K1024's obelisk, it was awesome with the roka hose. I found a guy selling some Al Fakher hookahs really cheap, if it works out I am will own one pretty soon, I'll let you know if it smokes better or worse.

Just don't get a shitty hookah or else you will regret it. My very first hookah was a shitty one and I ended up quitting hookah for a couple years because of it. Threw it away, good riddance to it.

Wow, thanks for the info! so far then it should be Khalil Maamoon (it took me 15 mins to find what KM meant) and over 30" in height so size does matter eh
It's hard to find those KM hookahs and they look kinda plain on the pictures.

i was in ur kicks about a week ago!

I'd highly discourage a multi-hose because in my opinion hookah is a social thing, half the fun is passing it.

Everyone told me to start out small, little mya bambino, but i personally liked the idea of having an authentic egyptian hookah, made by km(im not even going to try to butcher the name). In the end i probly bought something alittle too big.. 38"? idc. its badass.

In anycase what ever u end up buying id go through thehookah.com 2 for 1 shishacoals, you cant go wrong.

Sorry about that! I shouldn't have assumed you knew. KM=Khalil Mamoon, MZ=Magdy Zidan I think there is a hookahforum acronym page...I'll see if I can find it.

But ya, like joytron said, post some links or pics and I'm sure someone on here will tell you their opinion. Just make sure not to link to or talk about a banned vendor (just incase you didn't see that in the rules )

Well said, the women tend to gush over my 30" Hookah.....most of them have never seen a hookah any bigger than a 16-18" hookah, and thought those were big.

If you want impressive, get the most ornate brass piece you can....get ready for maintenance hell though...I spend about an hour and a half every 2 weeks polishing my hookah...making sure the coal tray gleams, the shaft is so shiny you can use see people in it, and the auto-seals are so clean that it looks like it's never been used. That's what it takes to keep a brass auto-seal hookah working and looking it's best.

To me, it's totally worth it.

Hi Im a newb and i recently bought a Hookah and i feel like i made a wrong choice. I went for looks and i didnt know if one brand was better than the other so i went ahead and bought it. I have an Inhale 2 hose Junior Hookah and i want to know if i made a bad pick, functionally speaking, i think its cool but i want to be able to have a smoke thats not gunna disappoint. I noticed that some of the smoke was leaking from the valve/hose thats attached to the stem and i had to suck really hard to get anything, when i first used it. I think it might have been because i didnt pack the tombeik in the bowel well but it was the smoke coming from the valve thats got me worried. Should I get a new stem? Is it my hose? If i want it to be taller, would a taller stem fit in my current base? What do I do? Thanks in advance for any suggestions!! Below is what it looks like:
