Lol, well, his pics are decent anyway. I am actually going to be driving down there anyway. It is back in the town I go to college. I need to go down there to apply to a couple jobs and such, plus an old friend i haven't seen in a couple years is going to be in town and I want to see him, so its not a complete waste if it doesn't work out


I did call him and its looking more hopeful, he said to give him a call when I get into town and he would meet me at the local walmart with the hookahs.

Haha, so interesting trip I had....got to Cape at about 10 min till 4. Hurried my ass up because the Career Linkages office closes at 4. Got up to the office just to notice a sign on the door saying they decided to close at 3pm instead...damnit! So, I went down to a downtown restaurant called Port Cape and applied, that went decently well.

I then met the guy with the hookahs. I bought all 4!! Woot! Ended up paying him 200 bucks like he was asking. He offered to give me 3 huge ass AF banners so I didn't feel right bargaining with him. Plus 50 bucks a piece was good anyway.

I asked him why he had so many...he told me he owns a warehouse where companies drop off their overstock and shit like that and he takes care of it. He said these hookahs got sent to him by accident and the company wouldn't pick them back up so he started selling them. Said he had 24 to begin with but the ones I bought were his last 4. He was not hookah savvy in the least bit, I don't quite think he knew exactly what he had. He said he was about to just have them all melted down for the brass and sell the brass...

Anyway, on to the hookahs. THEY ARE SEXY!!!! They are, in fact, solid. The stems are pretty heavy, heavier than I expected, MUCH heavier than my 34" KM ice stem.

I didn't really inspect them a whole lot, but they are all in great shape. They are new in box, still with the plastic wrap around them. The vases were nice and thick, intact. They all came with a small regular bowl, one that I have never seen before, all came with both trays, I think I may have gotten a pair of tongs or two, not sure yet.

The build quality of these AF hookahs, from what I can tell, far exceeds KM quality. But, I can tell they are a little more restrictive than the KM. Honestly, I wasn't really expecting much, but damn, in person these things are sexy. I almost feel like my dick is getting bigger just holding it. Very beautiful pipes.

One the downside, as jay explained from his, the stem to vase gasket completely blows. Horrible gasket, so I think for the one I keep I am going to buy a normal gasket for it. I don't know what size the vase is yet, either large or jumbo, didn't have a ruler on me.

Now you are going to hate me....I had to leave all of them down in cape. I got them all loaded in my car, which was very hard in my little honda delSol, but I realized that there was no way I was going to be able to hide 5 hookahs from my parents. One is hard enough. So, I left all 4 down at my buddy's place along with my KM ice and my supplies. Figured I will be back on the 19th so it isn't that big of a deal. only 2 weeks.

Also, since I won't be able to do anything with them for 2 weeks, hopefully this will give scoop some time to sell his. Also, please be aware I have not smoked out of one yet so I don't know how they smoke yet.

Ya, that is pretty much what I was wondering....I'm not sure what I want to do yet...was going to feel it out by the members responses. I figured if someone had an old hookah they didn't want anymore but didn't have any funds to buy a new one, maybe we could trade....but if you are like me and only have one hookah (before I bought these) then buying would be the only option. Man, it is going to be hard to let 3 of these go, but I really don't need 4 of the same hookah...

Once I get back to cape for school I am going to pick them up and take close ups of each one. I am going to only smoke out of one of them, but then I think for each one I get rid of, I might jsut ask the person who is getting it if they would like me to smoke out of it once to make sure everything is working properly on it, or if they would rather devirginize it and be the first to smoke it and take the chance, then thats fine. I don't foresee any problems with any of them, like I said, they look really good, but never know. The only thing I did notice is on one of them, the nut looking thing on the end of the downstem was put on a little crooked, didn't look like it would affect the performance, would only be a cosmetic defect, which you won't be able to see when it is in the vase anyway.

Remember that none of these come with hoses so you have to supply your own. I can supply you with one, but would have to pass the cost on to you, which is kinda dumb because it would make more since for you to order your own. Plus I am sure most people have an extra hose lying around or could make one fairly cheap. Also, I know none of them come with a hose gasket, but I don't know how many have the bowl gasket either. I know I saw a couple, but I didn't check the last two because they were new in box and I didn't feel like making a big mess over gaskets, which are fairly cheap as well.

Like I said, when I picked them up, the only things I was concerned about were the vase, stem, and trays. The trays even seem better quality than the KM tray. I really don't even want to put my coals in the trays because they look so nice. I may end up seeing if my KM tray will fit it so I don't have to dirty of the AF tray, lol.

Ya, I may end up doing that if thats what people want. I just figured you guys would either want to use a hose you already have or pick one out yourself, but if everyone is ok with the same hose and doesn't mind paying for the hose, then that may work. And I have no problem letting the buyer break it in. I will visually inspect each one and at least assemble it, hook a hose up to it, and suck through it to make sure that at least works (of course I won't be putting water or baccy or anything in it, just want to make sure the airflow is working properly.

Well, this is a first gen, but I completely understand if you don't want another AF hookah. Jay offered to trade me his second gen for this first gen, but i am not sure I really want another AF, I mean, they are sexy and I def want to keep one, but would really like to have a variety of hookahs. Ideally, I would like to keep my KM, keep one AF, and trade the other three for a Mya, a MZ, and a syrian or something like that, but I am starting to get the feeling people are wanting to buy more than trade.

Maybe once I post pics you will change you mind??? haha Than again, I may not be worthy of touching or smoking from a GNR hookah

I may end up waiting until my roommate moves in to smoke it though, which won't be until the 21st or 22nd, figure I should break it in with company, plus I need to find a place I can smoke since the campus is going smoke free.

And ya, I would love to get my hands on a mini, but Eric won't budge. I have been bugging him for months without success. I will probably end up settling for a one coal bowl, someone just posted a review on it and said it worked great. And, the bowls these come with actually look really nice anyway. But ya, mini would be awesome!

got em a while back...I finally got around to picking out the one I am keeping. Will try to inspect the rest and start taking detailed pics as soon as I can...may be a little though, this semester is more intense than I expected and I am joining an accounting co-ed frat and a business co-ed frat that is going to take a lot of my time, not so mention all the courses I am trying to keep up with. Oh, and the plastic on some of the parts is like stick between the two pieces of the stem...I thought at first maybe the stem screws apart, but it doesn't as far as I can tell and I don't want to break em. Anyone have any suggestions as to why the plastic is stuck in between the gold colored pieces and the silver colored pieces? How to get it off? Is that normal? Oh, and I did smoke out of the one I am keeping, smoked amazingly well, pretty well like my KM. KM is still my goto hookah just because I have owned that one a lot longer and these AFs are so shiny that I don't want to mess em up.

They don't screw apart. Based on how the 30" is made, the stem pieces are held in place because the stem tube that runs in the middle of them is soldered at the top of the hookah and at the bottom of the shank. The plastic may have been left on the pieces when they were assembled to protect them but they should pull out I think. I wouldn't worry about it but I'd say leave it on if you don't want to deal with it.
