Weird....? At A Lounge!?

Recommended Posts

I was at a lounge today with a friend of mine doing some bubblegum(dont ask) shish, i think it was al-waha. Anyway after about 25 minutes it got weird.. it was really hard to take the smoke? i guess would be the only way to say it. Dont get me wrong ive been smoking for awhile now and i usually have no problem taking good sized hits. Its really hard to decribe because it wasnt so much harsh or bad tasting simply difficult to inhale as if it was hitting too hard, but the smoke really wasnt that thick.

i've seen this problem before and i always wondered what the hell is going on so i wanted to see if you guys may have an answer.

Standard for most hookah lounges, foil or otherwise, who use cruddy shisha (not sure on yours, as you say) and who underpack it, hence burn the hell out of the shisha.

Sessions can die out not just due to crappy taste or burnt taste, sometimes I relate it to a severe tickle vs actual burns.

Did this happen by any chance after you moved the coal? If thats the case that probably means that they packed one side fine but the other side had restricted airflow. otherwise I have no idea but under packing could be part of it.

I would think what is happening is this:

They re using a standard bowl. They're using a thinly cut tobacco. As the tobacco dries out, during smoking, it looses its "stickiness" and collapses to its natural packing density, which is higher than it could be to smoke right. They had sprinkled it in or thinned it out and it collapses into a tighter clump at the bottom of the bowl, obstructing the holes. This is common with tobacco that is cut too finely. The only reason they cut it finely is to obscure the amount of stems in the tobacco.
