Hose Diameters?

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know approx. the hose diameters of the most popular hoses on the market right now?

Maybe we could make this the thread for this, i.e. if you have the time to measure your hose's diameter, including the diameter of the piece that fits the stem, the mouth piece, and the actual hose itself and post it here for others to compare?

Thanks

Ok, I will be going with 3/4" now, thanks Rings! lol

You should also take into consideration flexibility of hoses relative to size. Larger hoses also cost more and there is a diminishing return in performance as you go larger because your hookah, hose port, and hose tips will still be restrictive so there is little benefit in going with...oh who am I kidding, why stop at 3/4"? Go with the biggest hose that can fit in your mouth! laugh.gif

You actually have a VERY valid point here. The whole point of building it myself if to make it cheap, and the larger stuff is more expensive. Plus, I did notice the wider the diameter of the hose, the stiffer and less flexible it is. I dunno what i am going to do yet. I know last time I went to lowes the 1/2" diameter hose was near the end of the roll, which is exactly waht I DONT want because that stuff is stiffer and curled more.

I dunno, maybe 1/2" on the hose and 3/4"-1" on the handle, which is going to be made out of PEX.

Nice project, be sure to get some pics of how you did it and post it here!

I went to a local store here to get some tubing but they only had 3/8'', I wanted one inch diameter to make the pull easier.. bought 6ft for 2.70$, not bad at all. I made one a few months ago with the tubing and it's working well, I had an old cobra lying around and used it for the mod (my father uses it) but I plan to do a mouth piece that is less restrictive than the cobra.. we'll see

So, looks like the KM ultimate hose is the bigger (diameter) hose in the market right now?
