Agreed. Hookah lounges are a waste of time and money. I'd rather spend the $40 on shisha and drinks to invite friends over than a bad time at a lounge.

I have actually never been to a hookah bar. I really want to go and try one out though, see what its like. Would be kinda nice to smoke without thinking about how much the shisha and coals are costing me, and then not have to clean the hookah after using it.

there are some bad lounges as there are good lounges... but i have to say this... people go to hookah lounges not just for hookahs... we here on the forums are more knowledgable and picky about hookahs. 98% of lounge owners dont do their research on flavors, coals, packing methods etc... regardless... people (in general) go to a lounge to smoke and hang out with friends. i have a hookah at home... but its nice to go out and have a good time. i know many 18-20 year olds who have nothing to do... a hookah lounge caters to the "younger" crowd...not that "older" crowds arnt seen but when i walk into a lounge i see college kids alot. there are a couple lounges around me that just suck but i go every once in a while... i compare it to a bar... some bars have a shitty atmosphere, bartenders cant pour drinks (basically no alcohol in it), dirty etc but ppl still go...why? cuz its something to do...and its social. why go to a bar and pay $2.00 a beer when you can buy a 6-pack for $6 and drink at home? think about it.

I have not been in any good hookah place in Canada. I tried many in a bunch of cities between Toronto and Halifax. I dedicate a $100 as a tip for the person serving me if I am impressed with the hookah/shisha. I am 100% sure I am never going to pay that $100 because for the past 15 years they all have sucked and nothing will change that.

we used to have 2 lounges that were very good, and 1 that sucked, now one of the greats sucks, the other is still consistently awesome, and the old baddie has turned itself around and other than a few tiny gripes on how id do things, it has the best hookah and atmosphere i can get indoors. since i cant smoke my hookah in the house. otherwise its all gravy. the only reason i found out my old favorite went bad is because i went last weekend. people doing FUCKING handstands on the table (drunk girls) and the guy who packed/served was completely trashed the whole time, which is cool but he cant pack a hookah to save his life when hes drunk and they wont STOP BRINGING OUT COALS like every 5 mintues he'll give me new coals when the ones ive got just started getting to the center where they maintain perfect heat. gah i wanted to slap the coal carrier out of his hands and call the guy who owns the place and be like fire this guy now please PLEASE
