Yet Another Acclimation Question

Recommended Posts

Okay, I ordered Lucid the other day from HJ. It should be here Saturday and I have a question:

- Does the heat outside affect the quality of the tobacco? Will it dry it out and will the tobacco lose it's flavor I mean.

And I imagine if there's a chance of rain, I just shouldn't acclimate at all right? Wait for there to be no chance of rain.

Lucid doesn't usually need acclimation, but leaving it out for 3 or 4 hours couldn't hurt. As long as you keep it in an airtight container it should be fine.

I don't have to leave the container open to acclimate it?

Is there an easy way to tell if it's all good to smoke? Edited by DistortedTruth

i accimate all tangiers. Leave it OPEN in a container. It's wet enough it won't dry out from being exposed a day or 2.

when it smells strong, it's ready.

Thanks mush! I can do that. I'll obviously smell it out of the packages to see if it even needs it since its Lucid biggrin.gif. I is so excited.

Lucid could potentially be fine in just an hour, depending on your climate. Super dry, see how it smells (though some always stink, like BGB sometimes is weird even when ready to smoke). MOre humid / more up and down, do it 3 hours.

Yah, I've heard Lucid doesn't need much if any acclimation. But I want it in tip top shape to smoke for my first Tangiers session.

I saw Sonthert recommend once upon a time that Lucid is supposed to be acclimated, too. I could, however, be mistaken. It does not take nearly as long as the real deal though (in my experience 30 minutes - 1 hour).

From what I've been hearing I'll do an hour - 2 hours. Should be plenty and just enough time to dodge the rain this weekend.

the humidity shouldn't have changed drastically unless you're running your A/C and the "weather" inside is very different from the weather outside. so, you should be fine.

if it is, the tobacco may suffer humidity shock when it changes environments...and if you keep moving it inside and outside, you may not give it a chance to fully catch up to the humidity.
