Hookah and Grommets

Recommended Posts

So  with my massive order of Shisha, I received my new hookah to replace my old one. I received a three hose engineer hooka from hookashisha. First of all it was broken when I got it, which by the way angered me to no end, but it is collapsible into many pieces so I simply removed that piece.   Any on to the point. So now I have this hookah and I cannot, for the life of me get the hoses to stay in the adapters. I use the hose grommets which were given to me by the retailer and I even went and bought some from the local smoke shop. Turns out all of them are from Hooka wholesalers and they still don't work well.Any ideas of how to fix this problem? If it doesn't get fixed I am tempted to just order a myasary even though they are only two hose models. Suggestions on this as well? Granted i don't REALLY want to spend more money.

ah,ok..i found what you have. Sorry to see you got an auto-seal.
I also have had probelms with keep ing my hose in the socket on my auto-sealer. I've found i just have to crank it in there...and crank it back in when it falls out.
The sockets aren't as deep as a non-autosealed sockets, so I've noticed. I think this is to make room for the auto-seal mechanism and not have the whole things stick WAY out.
One of the OTHER drawbacks to the auto-sealer hookahs.
I've mentioned that I've drilled out one of my autoseal ports haven't I?

i have the same hookah and the exact same problem. ive only had my new hookah for about 3 days now so i really havent taken the time to fix it permanently, but what i did was put 2 of the same gromets in the hose port and it works a lot better now. still isnt permanent, but its a quick fix.

Teflon plumbers tape works the best for hoses with the Syrian screw on autoseal hose inlets. The autoseal tends to have a tight draw so you might want to take some oil and a drill bit and open them up a bit. Plastic airsoft pellets work good for the larger holes if you want to keep the autoseal.

I've heard electrical tape works well, but I have a better solution. Ever heard of Gorilla Glue?  Well now they have Gorilla Tape, which I picked up a role last night at home depot  to fix my ac's plexiglass into place.  This stuff is amazing.  It is probably the strongest tape I've ever  heard of.  However at $9 a roll it might be a draw back.  But then again you'll never have to recoat it.  Hope this helps.  BTW its all weather too

Use some cloth to wrap around hooses and try to place them this way or give your hookah back and order one hoose model which is much better and leaves space for interraction while smoking.

If the hoses' ends are too small, couldn't you simply saw off a little
bit from the ends, which would make them a larger diameter? Then you
wouldn't have to push them in as far, which appears to be the problem.
Might work out well in the long run.

Teflon plumbers tape is the secret to plugging any little hole or bad connection if you are an " all-thumbs" type like me. sheeshabum
