The music industry and Guitarist all over the world would never be where they are without you!
Remy
He was a great man who made a great guitar. He certainly will be missed
coplinb
At 94, you can't be too surprised, but he will def be missed in the music world. Music wouldn't have been the same without him, so he might be gone, but at least he was here. Anybody interested in his whole story should check out the documentary "Les Paul: Chasing Sound" Its a pretty cool movie.
Ramenamen
This sucks. He did a lot more for music than Jackson did, simply by inventing the LP. He apparently would still play weekly shows.

Stuie
He also invented multi track recording... I hope they erect a statue in his honor.
Svaals
Doesn't get much bigger than LP in the music world.
Scalliwag
Les was in a class all his own. Like Stuie said he invented multitrack recording on top of making the first solid body guitar. He was incredible. I never got to meet him. I met Jim Marshall of Marshall amps way back at the Dallas Guitar show. But Les would have been the holy grail. It's one thing to play badass and a whole other thing to have badasses playing your inventions. They all had to bow to this guy.

kvtaco17
Truly sad news... every musician out there owes so much to this man... he innovated and created the tools we musicians use to invoke emotion! I'm smoking in his name as I type this... I could see him being a 2 apples man... RIP Les...
