Would You Spend $500 On A Hookah?

Recommended Posts

I fell in love with this hookah. Its absolutely beautiful.
If you wouldn't spend 500 on a hookah, what would be the most you would and on what? Talking pipes here, not shisa or anything else. If I wouldnt spoend it on this, I think I would spend it on an all glass hookah, like that gentleman posted earlier.

Yes I would if I found a Hookah that I felt was worth it to me. If it is worth it to you, go for it... you earned the money, nobody should tell you how to spend it, unless perhaps they are telling you where you can find it cheaper.

Def would not spend that much on a mass produced hookah, whether I had the money or not. The only way I would spend that much on one if it was a one off and there would never be one like it again.

Considering what's on the market right now as far as high-end pipes go, I'd get one of John's new KM's.

As far as a high end Mya: The Colossus

Both are half the price of the one you posted.

The issue to me is that these $500 pipes do no smoke any better than the cheaper models. It's all about aesthetics. For $500 you could hire an interpreter, contact the Khalil Mamoon factory in Egypt, have a pipe designed so that the stem spells out your first and last name in gold plated brass, and have it imported to the US.

Seriously. It's pretty beautiful. If I had $500 to blow on a hookah right now, I think I'd get the KM I posted with this vase:

Someone posted a pic awhile ago of their KM in the teal vase... droooool.

Does anyone happen to know the contact number for the Khalil mamoon store/factory?

PM Codename067 or SmokinMoose... one of them posted the number awhile ago. Maybe I'm imagining things though.

A member of another forum actually went there and took pictures: Picture album

If it's not okay to post that, mods please delete this.

I think the most I would spend would be on an obelisk or colossus, definitely not spending more than than on an all glass. While I do love glass (been taking some glassblowing classes, on a pipe, not torchworking which is how most glass hookahs are made) I'm pretty sure me or one of my friends would screw up and break the thing. If I get a real job/career, I think it would be reasonable to buy one of those two pipes. Even though those crystal bases are pretty pimp, I would rather blow my own. Speaking of which, once I get good enough, I could easily blow custom bases if there is enough of a customer interest.

Or you could just go for one of these if your looking to spend that kind of money. I definatly think this would be a crowd pleaser.

lol...negative. That's actually a 3 foot tall hookah on top of a 2 foot tall lantern. It's meant to be a purely decorative piece.

No, I would not spend that much on that hookah. I've seen it up close, and yes, it is quite pretty.. but its not $500 pretty. Really, that's all you are paying for, looks at this point. Nothing that hookah does, bring anything to the smoking experience, short of looking pretty. The actual function of the hookah will not be any better than your run of the mill Mya.

Me personally, wants the best of both worlds. It needs to outperform everything else AND look pretty to be worth that much to me. IF they got rid of the shared heart, and put some big boy ports in there, and made it have the biggest ID on the stem and ports that you can get away with, and gave it the pretty treatment, then sure..

but as it is, it's like any other mya, with an expensive ass crystal vase, and some metal veneer..
