Mixing Flavors Went Bad?

Recommended Posts

Soooo, I was smoking Sour Grape....yummmm. Then I moved on to Mimon....yummm. Then, I thought...Sour Grape + Mimon = win? Apparently not.

For some reason, mixing the two turned it into Rotten Grape + Sewage? Really? What happened?

its not that the flavors didn't go well together...it literally made it taste bad. like i was inhaling rotten grapes that fell into a sewer drain.

i felt nauseous after 10 minutes...

I have a stash of used, unburnt tobacco, from leftover bowls that I keep in container. Sometimes when I'm in the mood for a smoke without flavor I'll use this stuff because it does counteract when you use alot of different flavors, giving a smooth smoky taste.

Eric mentioned to me the other night when I asked about mixing M-cherry with the soon to be New Lemon Lime that it wouldn't work because the flavors would collapse.  Not necessarily sure what that involves but that's your answer.

I believe it's all about ratio and flavor choice. If it makes logical sense that the flavors will go together, like strawberry and vanilla, then it should work, well usually. I have a flavor mix that uses four flavors, and when people are over they usually want me to mix that one. But one night I just made up something and mixed a different batch; it was amazing. I tried to replicate it again the next night, and it was just okay. It was because I added more of a certain flavor than I did last time, and that flavor ended up taking over. Wish I would have written the general idea down now.

It's more to do with the chemical makeup of each flavor. If 2 chemicals dont mix well you wont get an accurate representation of what the flavor mix SHOULD be. There are all sorts of reactions that could take place. The flavor could mix well because the chemical makeup of it is favorable to the flavor you're mixing it with. Or it could mix badly, having certain chemicals break down therefore you wont get a good flavor at all, just some sort of awful shit flavor.

I believe this is how it works. I could be wrong though.
