Where To Buy A Laptop

I want to buy a laptop, I am going into a computer program for programming and networking and I need a laptop. Unfortunatly I am looking to spend around 500-1200 bucks on a laptop depending what it has on it.

I saw this website called www.cyperpowerpc.com and saw the prices were amazing for laptops. But the ship time is like 3 weeks and yes I already placed my order but I am going to cancel it because I can't take the wait and I went to BBB's website and there not rated well. So I figure I shouldn't bite the bullet on them.

Anywho I think I may take a stop at Costco to check some of the laptops they have over there. It kinda bugs me that a lot of laptops have such slow processors and HDD's at 5400RPM and they sell the damn laptop for 600 bucks.. or even more..

I am looking for a laptop for at least 2.5+Ghz and at least 320GB 7400RPM HDD and 4GB Ram Pc3200 DDR2

Unfortunatly I don't think I'll find that anywhere in a store... So if anyone knows of any good websites that I could check out please post them! Edited by newjacksm

i bought an Asus F50SV-AM1 about two months ago from Amazon.com...ive been pretty happy with it so far....lot of storage, a decent processor(not as fast as i might like, since i'm a gamer..) and 4gm of ram. The slower HDD speed(5400 rpm) is to conserve battery power, and to keep heat levels down. its not as slow as u might think (patience is key here i guess). I bought an external HDD(Seagate 500GB) since i DL a lot of media(video, audio, and game software). Transferred 70GBs or so 2 the new external in about 1.6 hrs(1hr, 40 mins). dunno if thats 2 slow for u, but that was a backup of my ENTIRE C drive. anyway, my laptop was a pretty good deal at $800(i think...might have changed...its hard to find the model that i purchased in june...theyre constantly changing)...
alright man, i hope u find something u r happy with, and i hope i helped u in some way with your choice smile.gif - M

asus' are good laptops for that price range imo. they have free 1 yr accidental warranty too if u register it within 3 months (free replacement if u drop it, spill it, or light it on fire..)

i agree with newegg.com or gentechpc (for asus only).
