Cutting Coals

Recommended Posts

Alight I have searched around a bit, but I couldnt find anything....

how do you guys cut cocos? Like length wise or width wise?

On a side note I got a bowl of nak mago going and its great. This is my first bowl at my new place....I also had my first coal drop...

My roommate friends where over, we were playing poker. I broke out the hookah and everyone started hitting it. Next thing I know one of the guys goes to pull the hose across the table....the hookah started to go and I grabbed it just in time....but lost a coal. This happened in the first minute I had the session going. It was an accident but pissed me off since you know only a hose can go so far....

back to the topic...if anyone just has a link about the coals that would be great... I got my nice coal cutters...the pruning snipps

Thanks,
Mike

i'm thinking of making a little coal holding device kinda like: |_|_|_|_|

the coal sits in it and the non-bolded parts are slits where the knife and cut through. i dunno if that makes any sense.

With coconaras I take a knife with little teeth on it and just cut a little bit into it until you see a line through it maybe a few mm down. After that I just press down and it breaks even everytime.

I just cut each coal right in half usually. Either that or use whole ones on one of its sides.

I get it.  Pretty good idea actually.  You'll get uninformed cuts every time and have no problems of pieces sliding around.

i just score the coco, keep the knife (serrated) over the score and then i have a little hammer i smash down on the knife and it slices the knife right through the coal.

Slice it whatever way works for you, i slice it whatever way it makes to wider but not as long pieces rather than longer but not as wide.
