iloveTOBACCOfreeHOOKAH
Hey everyone! I've been meaning to make a post telling everyone thanks again for the help in picking out a bad A hookah (38 km ice yaay!) clouds that beat the local bars by far, not to mention the fact that it lasts strong for a good 45 minutes and another 45 minutes of decent smoke. But i had a few questions! So my friends and I used to ice the hell out of a vase, and I mean a lot of ice... like 33 degree ice water for a pretty decent amount of time. But one time when I was putting ice in I was adjusting it and I barely tapped the thing on a wooden chair when putting it in my lap to put ice in and of course it broke... Idk if you guys have ever had a 5.5 foot girl start to hit you because you just broke her vase that matches the cute little plastic diamond on the stem but it’s just no fun. I Digress, I think the ice really helps to make the smoke colder but do you guys think it played a role in weakening the glass or was it just a cheap vase? For reference, I THINK this was the vase. http://www.southsmoke.com/pd_modern.cfm I really love the camel and palm tree vase I have and I would probably drift into a deep depression if the damn thing broke Also I’m starting to taste a drastic difference in taste of my current hookah, I’ve tried cleaning (soaking the vase with baking soda water overnight, letting the bowl and grommets bath in lemon juice over night, using a cleaning brush with lemon juice to scrub the stem, and running some lemon juice through the hose fallowed by rinsing warm water several times.) I was thinking maybe the, not trying to make a drug reference here, but the bowl has shit caked like a tobacco resin on the inside near the holes. I’ve tried everything shy of taking a drill with a wire brush attachment to scratch it off, but I figure that would take off the glaze which would probably make my bowl into a nice xmas tree ornament. Here is my bowl and yes I know I should have bought a phunnel, but I didn’t even see a diff until after i made the order http://www.thehookah.com/vortex-hookah-bowl.html And finally! (this one is kinda stupid but I figured I’d ask) the stem doesn’t quite stand up perfectly straight, which is nothing I’m going to really bitch about considering its a handmade hookah, but is there anything I can do to fix this? Maybe a diff grommet??Thank you everyone! as always ur help is much appriated As a thanks, i give u the happy stick man ():>)--|--<(with a halo)
hookah hippie
The freezing cold water did play a factor in the demise of the base you spoke of it does something to the molecules in the base either compresses or expands either way weakens the glassMaybe the taste is from the hose I would try cleaning that it could help but only if its washable
ilikemyusername
as far as the flavor goes, I'd get a washable hose, you can wash it! and for the bowl, if you think you have a stinky bowl you can soak it in vinegar and then rinse it off well, personally I use a MILD solution of bleach to clean my stuff. and for the lean, is it because the grommet isn't allowing the stem to fit flush with the vase? if so you can sand the grommet down a bit. My Mya has never stood up straight. The way I compensate is in how I put the stem on the vase--but on the Mya Bambino the stem goes around the vase opening, so you may not be able to to adjust how you put your stem on your vase. But if you can... maybe some kind of shim (wet paper towel) on one side under the rim of the vase grommet might help it looke even? Or by thinning the rubber on one side of the grommet with a sharp knife (if it's thick enough to do that) so it will sit even? Or with sandpaper like ilikemyusername suggested. Don't know, would have to see your rig to guess. The nasty taste may be coming from your hose, not your rig. Are you positive your hose is even washable? Bowls get cruddy, that's no big deal--unless you burned something really weird in it that tainted it. Or from coals that aren't fully lit before putting them on your bowl. You aren't doing anything weird with your shisha like refrigerating it or keeping it in your car or a hot garage, are you? Zinite
The hose is washable. That vase won't fit. You need a vase with a 2" opening. http://shop.gothookahs.com/product.sc?prod...p;categoryId=28Try boiling the bowl with a little bit of baking soda.
