Obama Signs Tobacco Bill - Goodbye Cloves (possibly Shisha?)

Recommended Posts

If they regulate sheesha, they'll have to regulate pipe tobacco which is the most respectable (and fastest growing subset of tobacco) segment of the tobacco industry. The North American Tobacco Organization (NATO), published their summary of the artice and also agreed it only applied to cigarettes...not to pipe tobacco, which is what sheesa is a subset of.

It kinda should upset you weather or not it affects you. Yeah they might be trying to good if that's really what it's aimed to do, but at the same time none of it should be the governments decision. Just like if you don't agree with abortion, do you really think it's right to let the government control that decision? In my opinion the government shouldn't even have as much control as they do now. I'm not saying the government is shit and we don't need them but there is a point where you have to draw a line. Little things like this will just build up and they will start making more and more decisions for us. I mean maybe we shouldn't worry about living our own lives and let the government play puppet master as we all go on about our days.

First they came for the clove cigarettes, and I didn’t speak up, because I didn't smoke them.
Then they came for the menthol cigarettes, and I didn’t speak up, because I didn't smoke them.
Then they came for the light cigarettes, and I didn’t speak up, because I was a hookah smoker.
Then they came for hookah tobacco, and by that time there was no one left to speak up for me.

if people chose to smoke chemicals, let them. It won't make them crash into someone of the freeway.

You do realize that EVERYTHING is make of "chemicals" right?
I honestly feel that the govenment needs to step the fuck out of this business. This is America Damn it. If I want to smoke a clove/menthol/light cigarette it is my damn right. This is what I keep talking about. Bullshit regulations being pushed left and right on the public.

Well yes everything is made of chemicals, but the point in question is about cigarettes, and if you can show me another product that contains as many chemicals that you would not normally consume in food/drink then be my guest.

My point was the same as yous.

They need to focus more of their energy on obesity, tbh. More and more kids are becoming fat.

Cigarettes help you lose weight.

That's enough evidence for many people to argue that cigarettes are healthy, sadly.

What do you mean? They have zero calories and deter my appetite. They're just like water. And water is healthy right?

For all you clove smoking enthuists, Djarum (my favorite brand clove) sells their product from over seas and will ship it to you. I was informed by the Manager of Distributions, Kretek Industries that the ban is on the sale, not use, of flavored products. They also charge a measly 30.00 USD for 160 cloves biggrin.gif

Also, the ban goes into affect September 21st, but business probably won't be ordering anything after this week.
