I've Seen These "spitting Cobra" Hoses A Few Different Places

Recommended Posts

I've been lurking here a little while, decided to finally post to see if I could get some opinions on a purchase I'm planning on making this week tongue.gif

I'm getting myself a new hookah for my bday - a Mya Obelisk - and was wondering if these "spitting cobra" hoses would be a good match:

I like the look of them, but I know looks aren't everything.

I've tried the regular cobra hoses but these appear to be pretty different, just wondering if anyone has tried them and if so what is the draw like, build quality, etc. I know they're not washable but I'm not too worried about that. Any insight would be helpful! Also any observations on the Obelisk would be appreciated smile.gif

I'm thinking I might end up going with the Nammor hoses, simply because I can't really find much info on the cobra ones, the Nammors are washable, and no one seems to really have anything bad to say about them smile.gif

This is exactly what I was going to suggest. For $21.95, I think you're much better off with the Nammor. And although I can't comment on the matter from personal experience, I've heard other people say they were disappointed by the performance of the Cobra. However, I can say from personal experience that the Nammor delivers. Hope this helps.

I think it's a good idea to go with the Nammor hose. I have a few, and I have never regretted buying them. I was even going to suggest that if you go with the spitting cobra hose, it might still be a good idea to pick a Nammor if the spitting cobra hose didn't work out.

The spitting cobra just looks like a regular hose with an ornament on it, and after using hoses like the Nammor ones, I've never used a regular hose since.

Do yourself a favor and dont buy the cobra hose. My buddy bought one and it down right stinks. The curve in the hose makes the pull very restrictive and the hose is somewhat heavy and pulls on the hookah quite a bit. Not to mention, the novelty of having a hose with a cobra on it fades away the day after the fed ex truck brought it.

why not pick up a Narbish? they're longer and the handle looks more durable.

I'd suggest making your own hose. I went to lowes and bought materials to make my own, ended up costing like 10-12 bucks and I have material left over that I can use on more hoses once I buy a few more $0.50-$2 parts. The actual hose is the most expensive part, which is only a dollar or two, the rest are like $0.50 a piece or so. I'm going to post a how-to as soon as I get back to lowes to get the parts I need.

My roommate had some hoses that were all rusted inside, we cut the actual hose portion off and we're just going to get some vinyl tubing to plug the tips/mouthpieces into.

I have one! Not the best but definitely not the worst of my lot!!
It's a conversation piece for the initiated and good for those days
you want a heavy and cool hand piece to hold (think hot and humid
with a KM/AF hose and the added coverings.) Too heavy to use
with a MYA Bambino but nice with a KM tri or an AF heavy. My 2¢
