Looking For A Good Budget Hookah...

Recommended Posts

Okay, well, you guys were right. The Inhale hookah started leaking air after only two uses. I'm gonna return it to the eBay seller. I'm looking for a new, GOOD QUALITY, hookah. I really like the Mya QT, because I hear nothing but good about it, but my girlfriend doesn't "like the way it looks." Lol. I think she likes the Eqyptian-style hookahs- ones that are tall and slender. So my question is- what hookah should I get? Preferrably one closer to $50, but I can pay a little more than that. I'm thinking $80 tops. Oh, and it's got to be a two-hose. Is there a good Egyptian-style two-hose out there or should I just go with the Mya?

Thanks,
Chris

For that budget, the only GOOD quality hookah you're going to get is the MYA. Look into MYA Bambino too. I've heard they hit the best out of all the smaller MYAS.

If you want Egyptian style for $50, this might be a good option:

http://www.hookah-shisha.com/p-96-scarab-1-hose-hookah.html

Used to have this a while back, it smokes nicely, but I think the QT would be a better option at the end of the day. The Scarab isn't a bad hookah, and if Egyptian style is an absolute must this is something you ought to consider.

Edit: My best advice, though, would be to talk your girlfriend into liking the looks of the QT. Edited by dakur001

Egyptian style isn't a must. Really she just wants a nice looking hookah. I'm really leaning towards the Mya or the Ebony.

Have you considered taking advantage of the free Mini Mya Acrylic with a $100 order that Hookah-Shisha has? I know you said you don't want to go over $80, but you need shisha and coals to smoke, so you could always stock up on supplies and get a hookah for your trouble. Plus, the hookah isn't bad at all, I use my Mini Mya quite often when I need something portable. If I recall correctly, you can get the two-hose version for an additional $5, if two-hoses is a must. I threw my QT in the garbage today. Not because it's a bad hookah, it's pretty decent (except for purging) but I never ever used it. If I was you I'd go for a one-hose MZ (Perpetual River, for example). Yes, it's one hose. Chances are you don't need a two-hose, usually when two people are smoking it's not that hard to find a good balance between smoking and brakes. Most of us don't inhale constantly anyways.

Just my 0.0002 cent, one-hose hookahs are superior to multi-hose hookahs. Especially on your budget.

not so i'm afraid, MZ's are quality pipes for a budget and they're egyptian. Not everybody likes the look of the QT, they're not very impressive looking.

Skip the Ebony and the Scarab. For a budget hookah that is still quality, you pretty much have 2 options:

Mya: http://www.hookah-shisha.com/c-241-mya-hoo...ay-hookahs.html
(not all of them are as 'stumpy' as the QT)

Magdy Zidan: http://www.socialsmoke.com/cat--Traditiona...nalhookahs.html

I'm not too crazy about the way the MYA looks... I REALLY like the way the Ebony looks. And the reviews are all very good. Think I should go for it?

Also, I know someone else mentioned it, but I strongly suggest spending $100 at www.hookah-shisha.com and getting this for free with code 'free hookah':

It's my favorite smaller hookah.

I'm not looking to spend $100. I only need one hookah. Right now it's pretty much between the Mya QT and the Ebony for me. Two-hose is a must. Guess I'll try to decide while I run to the post office to return this piece of crap chinese Inhale...

Skip the Ebony. It's way overpriced for what it is.

Anything that says "Mya'' on this page is good:

instead of selling or trading it?

Not unless you want to go through my garbage tongue.gif

Seriously, the throwing it away thing wasn't a joke. I recently moved to a new city, and I barely have any space. Plus, my landlord probably isn't overly excited about hookahs (I think, haven't bothered to asked) so I have to hide the my KM and Nour already. So because I hadn't used it for over a year and it was ghosting regardless of how much I cleaned it (plus, the purging was horrible), I didn't hesitate to get rid of it.

Edit: Sorry, I read your post as "interested in selling or trading it?" lol. But yeah, didn't have the heart to ask for money for it. Edited by Balthazar
