jk.....i do agree with what John is saying...and even though they're mentioned in the "big dog" section...i see a lot of this stuff from H-S. H-S will ship stuff poorly packaged, send you the wrong stuff, forget to include items, or whatever creative thing they can mess up. However, people will say they're great because even though they mess up, they give you FREE ROMMAN to make it all better. Honestly, get my order right the first time and you can keep your tobacco. Guess what? You, as a business, don't have to foot the cost for free tobacco and re-shipping stuff to me if you get it right the first time.

But, i see a lot of people recommending them because "if they mess up your order, they'll give you free stuff"...basically, buying back your happiness.

if you do vendor reviews, it should solely be based an customer service, accuracy/speed in order processing, and packaging....btw, John rocks in all 3 departments.

Agreed. And additionally you should have to pay for the product.  Of course they will say 10/10 OMG PERFECT.  It's not like shipping is an issue if you don't pay for it.  If I told you I was going to give you a free hookah, would you really care if you got it in 3 days or 2 weeks?  You can review the product itself but not the vendor if it was given to you for free.

Brilliant marketing strategy... But seriously, I jumped around a lot of vendors when I first started smoking, but you tend to remember the ones that treat you right, and after awhile you have it narrowed down to just a few. I'll put an honest plug in for you John... I now check your page first if I need anything. I don't care if someone sells SBuzz for a couple dollars less, it's important for me to feel good about who is getting my money.

Being honest what i like from a vendor now is participation, i know any vendor who will spend time here is not usually going to screw me.

This used to be MN hookah before tarik and ramsey got very busy and now it is john (about to pm you )

i like the personal touch much more than freebies

I do enjoy how this turned into a plug thread for John. And I will certainly add to it, because for my first online hookah order, I was treated right by the man. I didn't get tons of free shit, but I got exactly what I wanted, the price was good, shipping was fast (and I even ordered on a weekend I think) and I really appreciated the personal note about my flavor choices.

yes, it may have turned out as a promo but there is an appropriate section here that hf has generously offered me for that, so i am not taking advantage here in this thread. but as a hookah smoker i do participate but i did want to give you a vendor's pov on this issue. i could go on and on but i will just thank you for the kind words and mush for letting me speak my peace on this.

tbatcho, no worries, this wasn't aimed at you at least from me, but i just wanted to make a point from a vendor's pov, from a consumer's pov sometimes free and cheaper is better and my response is no not always. the main point is if you get something free you may feel obligated to say it's better than it really is. let's say you and i are out drinking beers, giving and taking, meaning i buy a round and you buy a round and we're good friends, then some "bro" comes up and just buys all the rounds for the rest of the night, you may feel obligated to give that person your friendship, whether or not he's a true friend.

it seems like the toothless troll has read this thread, i was at one of my distributors today and all of their, meaning my, CH coals were bought out, and the toothless troll has them on his site for $7.95, a buck over his cost, doing this in order to "burn" my product, (they are coals idiot, they are supposed to burn) anyways, if you don't know who this is let's not make an issue out of it, since the smart thing to do is to ignore him, his sales have hit rock bottom anyways, and now "giving away" product just to spite me or to hang on to what little business he has. i would suggest you guys go over there and buy them up but you will end up getting screwed in the end, he hasn't got an order right since he started.

I understand fully what youre talking about john.
I just like occassionally opening a box and finding a free 50g of nakhla...its like halloween getting your goodies and bam...its christmas with something you weren't expecting.
But I also think about it this way...most of the vendors that affiliate with us, stick out there necks with a discount code and promos, why do we need free stuff when in a sense we are getting some of our stuff in our order close to free.

Don't get me wrong, I like free, like the tangiers I got coming, thats practically free...



On another note, I just got my King Tut KM from the hookah...excellent service but the guy didn't sound happy when I asked him if there was a HF discount code...he said that the owner removed it because it was abused or something like that

Let's just say there are a few vendors i wouldn't go to even if they offered free stuff. I even forget about discount codes sometimes. Any Vendor that sells legit stuff, ships timely, prices fairly, and fixes any problems that arise... Those are the people I do business with.

Just to add to what most people have been talking about with the rules and spam here...
I do my fair share of research before buying anything. I don't go for lowest prices or free stuff.
I usually go with a site that has a wide selection. And in stock.
Although I do think that H-S has good customer service when it comes to making things up. They do mess up the orders a bit.
Though it hasn't been with anything big, usually the smaller items that are free already with the purchase. But when I ordered my QT they didn't include the cleaning brush, which would have been nice since I didn't have a phunnel for the Tangiers.
They instead included a cheap re washable hose (home depot diy hose) and some foil (...yeah).
Although it was nice of them to try, I still see the larger picture, they didn't complete the order.
So it wasn't big enough for me to never order from them again. I just know now that when ordering from them I will need to add a comment to the order about the previous misshape so it doesn't happen again. Which has worked so far.

I still give other a fair shot if they have something I would like.

After all the good things I've heard about Johns. I'll probly be going that route next.

My biggest peeve is deff the out of stock shisha. I hate going through 2-3 different sites to get everything I want. Because one thing is for sure...if I'm going to place an order, I don't base it on what the site has in stock. I base it on what I want.

Grats on the free stuff. It's always a good thing to get free stuff. Especially when you haven't tried it, then you don't have to spend your hard earned money on something you aren't sure you'll like.
But I trust you'll keep your word when you say you'll be honest with your reviews.

And Mush...I usually agree 100% with what you decide (even when it includes me going on vacation), but a vendor ban because they don't post here sounds kinda harsh. I honestly don't think they paid him to do this. I just think it's the free stuff going to his head. He's praising them because they were good to him. Which he has the right to do if done without promotion.

Just because a vendor doesn't post doesn't mean they are using him. Then again...I don't know the history with them so I'll stop their...
plus just because I don't agree doesn't mean it isn't justifiable. It's just my 2 cents.
