Temsah Or Short Mz From Hj?

Recommended Posts

So I'm looking at getting a bigger, more Egyptian style hookah right now. I like my QT but I want the experience of a larger, fancier looking hookah. However, I'm not looking to go too large, mainly due to my small budget ($60 or so) so I think I have narrowed it down to either:

http://www.hookahjohn.com/product.sc?produ...p;categoryId=21 26in Temsah Red

or

http://www.hookahjohn.com/product.sc?produ...mp;categoryId=9 22in MZ Grey

I already have a narbeesh and some bowls (small phunnel, mod, gonna pick up a pair of santino's ocb's eventually) so I am only looking for opinions on these two hookahs. Will both of them be better (if only marginally) than the QT? Is one likely to be significantly better than the other? Is it really just taste and neither hookah has an advantage? I.e. do they smoke the same, and where do they rate compared to say... the oft praised KMs?

Thanks in advance hf peeps.

Damn, that's a hella good price on that MZ. If I had seen it before I bought my QT I might've been all over it. Anyway, I like the MZ best. And it fits right in your budget. As for if it'll smoke better or just as good as your QT, I'm not sure. Someone else is gonna have to answer that one. Best of luck. Edited by INCUBUSRATM

From what I understand and have experienced ... if the mya qt is rough brass on the inside (don't know if newer versions are smooth, I know the bambino is smooth) ... it will ghost, after a long period, even after washing it after every use it just smelt horrible. Easy to clean the open chamber but couldn't get the smell out.

Neither of those pipes will ghost on you.

Mya doesn't purge well (i'm sure you know by now) if that is a big thing for you. Both MZ and Temsah will.

I think you will notice and smoother draw from both the temsah and mz but the QT only lacks there because of its small size, and not being able to hold a good amount of water. The QT can produce the same sized clouds as any other hookah, I just find bigger pipes to have a smoother draw.

People have also reported that the common chamber design, (QT) creates a weaker flavor than a closed chamber (like mz/tems)

I'd say the temsah and mz are better, but they should be, they are more money and bigger. For the money the QT cannot be beat. But either of those will be an upgrade for you.

I Don't own a temsah so I can't say too much other than that the reviews have been good.

The MZ will hit just as nice as any KM, same goes for the temsah.

It all depends on what you think looks best.

I would go with the temsah between the two.

Hope this helps!

Oh and good choice on the vendor btw!

I agree with mattarios. The MZ is the best value of the two. If you are going to stretch your budget for the Temsah you should also look at the KM Guru series, AF small/medium, and KM Kafae or Temsah Trimetal. The AFs come with cheaper hoses and are thinner gauged than KMs but they still smoke good and you can't argue against their looks.

Shizzle! I knew that $90 would throw a wrench into my careful selections!

So now I am burdened by choosing between the km kafae (really like that stem!), the km guru red bell, mz 36, mz 22, temsah wheat read, and the temsah trimetal.

Still leaning towards the Temsah red wheat, but the Kafae (flower vase) is pulling my attentions too.

I am not that impressed with my MZ think it's a base issue. It's a weird shape.

Personally I like the Thamesh better, but that's just my opinion on looks. I haven't smoked one yet.

I would go for the Temsah, I saw the video review of the and they are a great hookah. It's larger than what you have yet not too large but it's much heavier and according to the reviews I have read in the league of a KM with better craftsmanship. It's a little more money but you'll really notice the jump up in hookahs. Edited by ngraz617

Hey I went and bought the KM, but I think they look like great heavy duty hookas and it's a better jump from what
she has now. In fact I think the parts are the same used in KM if I remember correctly.
