Craziest Hookah Session

I personally don't have any bizarre/memorable experiences...yet, but I'm sure some of you do.

Don't know that I'd call it bizarre, but my very first hookah experience did blow me away. I hadn't had a cigarette in ten years and hadn't had a cigar in probably two years so I got totally blitzed on my first hookah session. I felt pretty silly, like I'd had a few stiff drinks or something. Couldn't stop grinning and it was just AF. I don't drink so that wasn't a factor. Thankfully, I wasn't affected that way the next time I smoked hookah.

I do find it bizarre how people interpret the flavor of shisha so very differently. Nakhla's Earl Grey is a perfect example. It's almost too strong for me. Like I'm smoking bergamot oil. It's strong, not at all sweet, almost soapy. I usually blend it with something to mellow it out. I love it, but it's stout. Yet more than one person I've shared it with says it tastes like Fruit Loops and don't find it strong at all. ????

The guy at the shop only carries 250g jars of starbuzz and I think tangiers is the other flavor he carries? I could be wrong, Id have to go back and check.

That reminds me though, after a long time of not smoking hookah I went over a friends house and tried it again. I did it on an empty stomach and I got so lightheaded I fell over as if someone was extremely drunk. Probably the most memorable..

I had some Starbuzz Margarita that made me downright sick. Didn't like the flavor either but smoked it because I'd gone to the trouble of setting it up. I was sick for hours and had to go straight to bed to try and sleep it off. It was awful. I never smoke on an empty stomach, I get too famished during the session and have to stop and eat something--so I have never gotten sick from smoking on an empty stomach. Only tried Layalina once and it left me with no desire to ever try it again. But, tastes differ!

Never really had a crazy sesh yet... Only thing I can think of is I shouldn't have smoked that Hookah-Hookah kiwi shisha that one time... Made me sick as hell. Al Fakher ftw!

It's not so much more to get AF or many other brands. But probably only if you buy them online. Which I'm guessing isn't entirely feasible for you? 50 grams of AF for around $3.25 at some online stores. Cheaper if you buy them in three, five, or ten packs. Layalina is considerably cheaper than Tangiers. But you do seem to be getting a good deal on the Layalina. Cheaper than what I see online per 50g pack, actually. Not by a lot, but cheaper.

caffeine and nicotine work together in weird ways...but yes eating before hookahing is important, especially when you first start smoking.

absolutely, its the reason I dont go to lounges...(i think i would enjoy a good one, but the one around here is shit)


every year my fraternity does a charity event called "Smoke For the Cure" where we sell candy cigarettes, bubble gum cigars, and keep a hookah running the entire day...We went through like 7-9 bowls in 8 hours. It was awesome, but is also the only time that hookah has made me feel sick..

I have a couple funny one for you guys

Me and a few friends were smoking some Fantasia - Blueberry,just having a good old time.One of the girls that was here,being the mindless zombie she is,decided to pull on the hose,thus knocking over my $160 Mya Gyro.The 2 coconara's went rolling onto and then off of the table,and the bowl fell INTO her purse,covering the contents of her mobile storage apparatus in tobacco and juice =P

My old roommate,our friend,and I were smoking Tangiers,I believe,when this crazed moment took place.My old roommate was messing with the coal,just knocking the ash,and the moron squeezed it too tightly with the tongs and it exploded IN his face.Of course bit's and pieces of coal went EVERYWHERE.I had a cup of homemade tea in my arsenal,so I dumped a little bit on random spots where the coal was to put it out.He went after a slightly large piece of coal with the tongs,but while doing so put his arm down on ANOTHER piece of coal and started yelling "F**k F**k" repeatedly for a good 8 seconds or so...Personally it was down-right hillarious =)

I nearly always keep a wet towel handy now during a session. Forgot yesterday and regretted it when a split coal rolled off the bowl and under the couch just beyond reach. Ran to get a wet towel and managed to smother it that way. Thankfully haven't burned myself yet. Yet. Way to go with the tea! I've used whatever beverage I was drinking a few times too. Handy stuff, liquid.

Left my hubby alone with the hookah for a brief time and he decided to move coals (his first attempt ever), dropped one, but had a dry towel handy. Was proud of himself for putting out the sparks, which were everywhere, but was a little upset about having burned a towel. Sadly, he had no beverage. I was cooking when it happened and could only holler at him from the kitchen while watching him struggle,

"Do you have a drink????"
"No, I have a towel!"
"Be better if it were wet!"

My first hookah experience was at this local hookah bar in Kentucky called cafe 360. We smoked orange mango out of this huge all metal pipe, and it tasted awesome Not sure what brand it was, but it was good enough to convince me to buy my own hookah

The first time I smoked I vomited all over some girl that was passed out... she sucks though, so it's all good.
