Do You Care Where You Shop?

I tend to shy away from corporate retail if i can.
I prefer the small business owner get my cash instead.

I like the fact that
1. they know me. they will often undercut even the cheapest of corporate store prices for me or toss in lots of freebies.
2 they know what I like. they will take me directly to what I want I dont have to look through a ton of usless crap I cant use to find the one item i need.
3. I like the feeling of knowing my money is going to be used in the community not sitting in some old rich guys bank account.

now I am not a rich man never have been. In fact many of you who know me know I am dirt poor (sleeping on a pile of blankets from goodwill on the floor in my mommas house poor.) and the local shop owners know this as well but they treat me just as well as if i was wearing an Armani suit if not better.

now that being said I will say I do shop at wall-mart also because its convenient. I am only going to drive 15 miles to get a gallon of milk from there instead of 40 miles to get it at my local grocer. (I live out in the middle of nowhere so to me local is a much larger area than it would be for most of you.)
