mr.shisha Posted August 28, 2009 Share Posted August 28, 2009 (edited) hey guys!So, I've had my Mya Bambino for around 1 year now and feel that with Eid coming up in a couple of weeks, its time for an upgrade I absolutely love my Bambino, it's my baby, but I need something bigger and well, no offence to the Mya, better.This is my issue, I have no idea where to start. I know i want either a Mya, KM or Syrian, but seeing as this will be my only hookah (aside from the Bambino) for a long time, I want to make sure I'm getting something good. I have a budget of around $200 for a hookah and want something not too big but definately an increase from the Bambino. I'm currently debating on getting an older second hand Nour as it looks absolutely stunning, but I'm unsure of how well it smokes, however I'm assured that the quality is top notch. It also has a bohemian vase which is a beautiful touch. I've seen the new KM's John at HJ has and I'm almost going to buy one of those, however, I don't want to "jump on the bandwagon" and get a KM for the sake of the name, I want a really durable, beautiful and quality pipe. Would any KM I purchase these days fulfil that?Lastly the Myas, having had the Bambino for a while now, I know Mya's are excellent build quality and they look stunning! Its mainly the price that stops me from reaching out, however, if tempted enough, I'm sure I could go for one...just not sure whether I could get a nicer KM for much cheaper that would do the exact same job in terms of smoking quality. They all have minor aesthetic flaws, but that's part of them being hand made. John's Premium KMs is where I would start - find one that you like aesthetically. My vote would be to save your budget and get a KM under $100, and use the rest on tobacco This is just my opinion, but my KM is way below 200 and smokes better than anything I've ever owned, and I've owned easily over 20 hookahs.Just a very well built brand. All the welds are top notch and clean. Just maybe spend a few extra bucks on a new bowl, perhaps an extra hose or two, and the rest for more baccy Edit: Hmm just realized that I might not have gotten my KM from H-S.com, as all their current stock of KMs are above 120+, and I remember only paying about 80-90. As to the investment of a Nour vs. KM I was actually referring to smoke quality and smoking functionality as opposed to value, I have seen hundreds of recommendations and comments about KM's and their amazing smoking ability, however, have yet to fully see the same for a Nour Syrian. I'm unsure whether to exclude AF syrians in this debate, as they are relatively new and the Nour's im talking about are the older versions. Does that make a difference? Perhaps that is an unfair argument seeing as there are older KM's and newer KM's which may be of different quality. I don't think there's anyone here who is a huge Nour fan (to the extent that most of us are KM fans). If I were in your position, I'd go for the KM without a doubt. I just picked up this KM and the company was a delight to deal with and no one can touch their price and it is a beautiful hookah and I like you was upgrading but didn't know what to get. I'm talking a hookah that you see upwards of $130.00 for $79.00 pluse you get $5 cash back on payment site so it's $76.00. I'm smoking it right now, signed tray, signed vase (which is hard to get these days because KM outsources everything) and a KM hose which is huge and the combination of colors is unreal. I'm smoking it in my garage and my daughter is having a party so as the kids walk by they see it. no doubt at least ten compliments so far on the KM no one even noticed the two Myas sitting next to it. There is nothing like a KM and for $76.00, better get them while they still have them. Measures 34" with the bowl and I'm using a Tangiers Phunnel right now.
