Eh, as far as I'm concerned, Mya should work on their purge...

I say this a lot, but I like the Mya purge. Throw a plastic bb in there and it purges even better.

I will assume that you do not own an Egyptian hookah?

Have a KM. The purge whistled annoyingly until I took out the clay ball and put in a ball bearing. It still whistled so I took the bb from my Bambino and put it in there. No more whistling. It purges great. The Bambino purges really well, not as thoroughly as my 31" KM, but still really well. Maybe I just lucked out, I don't know. Read lots of complaints about the Bambino purge but I haven't had a bit of trouble with it until the ball bearing finally got a bit corroded. BB fixed that. I also clean the purge well after every session.

I have seen more bowls that are similar to the phunnel than I care to mention. Apparently, these were all developed independently. They weren't looking at a phunnel. Of course, none of them came out until after the phunnel did. Lets put it this way...nobody thought of putting the hole anywhere else other than under the tobacco until I did. Then everybody is coming up with it on their own. Convenient. I'll bet theirs has something to do with the hole being raised off the bottom of the bowl.

I think my next bowl will be quite popular...solving several design problems. Make sure it gets patented before anybody sees it. wink.gif

And when can we expect this bowl to debut?

Patents can take up to 10 years to pass, Plus all the lawyer fees, patents, and random other things.. But it will give you that 20 year monopoly. Too bad it does nothing for oversea manufacturers to copy your designs regardless...

Also i'm not sure why your bambino, purges as well as you say it does, but all my Myas do not purge that well or the bambino that i smoked out of a couple of times... unknown.gif

Also no whistle from my KM's either.. Dunno

Nah, most patents are resolved within six months. Drugs and drug patents take that long.

It doesn't stop foreign manufacturers from ripping them off...but it certainly will slow down people selling them in the U.S. I am dubious of the results, myself...I just want to see if it makes a difference or its a waste of time and money, if nothing else.

Even if you decided to sell them before the patent passed then (if my knowledge is correct, patents aren't my specialty) then you could release it under a patent pending stamp which if you have the earliest record date of the pending patent no one could impede upon it. (too many P's in that line)

Smokeless hookah? That's not cool and I am sure that would have a hefty price tag.

what would be the point. seriously no smoke is a bad time and no flavor is a bad time lol. if you dont have both than its not worth it to me lol

If you submit the patent application, that is true. You can submit the patent application up until one year after the release of the item. Of course, if you release it, waiting for a patent, somebody else could come along and file a patent application and gum up the works with lawyers fees and make it more costly and troublesome...even though they lose...

  • 3 weeks later...
Prototypes , patents.. I'm assuming you have a prototype if you're considering a patent. I'll buy 3 prototypes from you without even seeing them if I can get my hands on it faster. As much as I like MYA Hookahs, I've never liked anything they made in the bowl category, and I'm super excited now on your new bowl designs!! Phunnels got my hooked on shisha, I really can't wait to see what you throw out next

P.S Please make the "small" version of whatever it is readily available. IMO the "Small" and "Large Phunnel bowls hit the spot, the mediums ... they just don't do it for me tongue.gif

Wouldn't selling prototypes sorta defeat the point of keeping it a secret until he has a patent?

prob something to do with that smokeless cigarette thing that has been out for a bit of time now. i've only recently been seeing them in tobacco shops though. Something to do about if you're in a place that doesn't let you smoke its okay cause instead of smoke, doesn't have a smell, you know all that good stuff you enjoy when smoking a hookah
