Looking For A First Hookah Buy

So i've been browsing the forums a lot, checking a bunch of stores, and reading countless reviews. So far I've got my eyes on: http://www.hookah-shisha.com/p-3872-pharao...ah-package.html

I'm just looking for a second opinion. I'll probably upgrade the vase and also get a phunnel bowl. Has anyone used this hookah before and how was it?

I'm also taking any other suggestions, my budget is around $100 preferable at hookah-shisha because of the free mya hookah. Edited August 30, 2009 by jodster

I agree with this 100%! I've got the Mya QT and I eventually want to get the Al Fakher.

Go for the Mya odyssey at hookahshisha.com and add a vortex bowl from hookahhookah.com for 13 including shipping and 15% off by using coupon code hookahpro.com and get a nammor hose. I would go for the double hose and if you don't use it often it's okay because of the auto seal system, you don't have to plug the other hose. The vortex is a lot easier to use and requires a lot less shisha and no scalli mod which you would end up getting. This set up on this hookah smokes almost as well as my tri metal KM, just stating the facts. and it's 23" tall with a screw on stem and the acrylic looks as nice or nicer than most glass and it wont break and also it comes upart so easy for cleaning, what a pain cleaning my KM. I use the Mya a lot more for that reason plus it smokes awsome.

It's easier to buy a mod than to make one and without the mod you have to use too much shisha or deal with it sinking and the foil covering the phunnel hole and then you end up putting holes there and all the ash goes in. it's easier to use a mod or just pick up a vortex for $13.00. The mod is impossible to keep clean and they are easy to break because they're glass. I have made mods but they are not the same. I was saying vortex because of a budget, you cant beat it for 13 dollars. it smokes the same as a phunnel with a mod, 1/3 the price and no hassle.

I would agree with the hookahs provided later on in the post. My 3rd hookah was a pharaoh. While the hookah isn't bad, a weld on my stem cracked about 3 or 4 months into owning the hookah. The damage didnt make the pipe unusable but it did create air leakage problems. Nothing some electrical tape couldnt fix but who wants to tape up their new hookah?

ok i got a vortex bowl to test this theory and it doesnt smoke nearly as well as the phunnel, and you dont need a mod to keep the foil from sucking down over the phunnel put a while smack dab in the middle and youll be fine.
small tangiers phunnel for the freakin win

personally if you want to go egyptian go with a KM or MZ (check out hookahjohn.com)

but if its your first hookah I suggest that you go with a Mya qt

The mod is unnecessary. If you pack your bowls correctly with a Phunnel, you'll use the same amount of shisha as with a Vortex (the bowls are about the same size) and you won't cover the hole up with foil. Phunnel>Vortex.

you made a great choice bro..im actually going to pick one up for myself in the very near future because im looking for something small..but not really wanting to go the qt route..and i say small because to me it would be because i have a 29'' and a 35'' make sure you get us some pics when it arrives..
