Smashraj84
DO NOT USE BBQ Charcoal, you'll be VERY sick.Go to any hookah shop or online store and you can find bulk natural charcoal.
pavlakos_politakos
NO!!!!! i really do NOT suggest using BBQ coals.the natural coals are just charred wood.thats it! no additives,chemicals,poisons,etc...those are the best;healthwise and best for your hookah experience.only thing is theyre a bit of a hassle. Sonthert
In the United States, many grocery stores sell this type of charcoal, for use in BBQ grills. It must be somehow marked "Natural" and the pieces look like actual black pieces of tree, with rings and knots and bumps and all. If you get stuff that looks like consistent pieces, avoid it. Like the difference between Ruffles and Pringles Potato Chips? Ruffles are all different sies because they are cross-sectioonal pieces of a real potato, while Pringles are ground potatoes stuck together with some sort of starch or glue. Ruffles are like naturla coal, Pringles are like the dangerous BBQ coal...

(tm) Since this thread is about not getting a whole lot of flavor, and i dont want to open up a whole nother thread, let me unload my flavor dilemmas. I bought an order of Fumari a few weeks ago. Since then i've noticed that the smoke is less flavorful than it once was. I keep it in the tupperware+ a ziplock baggie and i air it out and mix it up for 20 ish minutes before i smoke it. What am i doing wrong? I get tons of silky smoothe thick smoke, but the flavor is just weak. I dont think its a heat issue. PLEASE ADVISE!
Sonthert
Humidity shock. Spring in the northern hemisphere, means more humidity for a month or so. Try letting it sit out for a couple hours. It may be that when you first got it, it was experiencing humidity shock then and thats why it seemingly smoked so well, too. Actually, try leaving it out for a day. steve07
Summer in michigan gets real humid I would have to leave a new bath out for a day. Heck in the summer I have a hard time keeping my cigar at a proper humidity.
Lukasa
I left fumari tropical punch out for ~4 hours and it still wasnt all that strong in flavor. When the flavor was strong there were strong underflavors of nasty burnt shisha. In other words it required a lot of heat to get the flavor and even then, charred taste ruined it. rel4x
I joined just to post this reply(I'll probably stick around though). Swift-Lite charcoals are absolutely miserable. They can make anything taste terrible. Pick yourself up some natural coals, or three kings.
