Sonthert
I'm having recurring problems with logins on HookahForum and another Forum.I'll login, it'll be OK for a little while and then it will say I'm no longer logged in. It only does this with Mozilla Firefox. I receive free updates and I downloaded the newest version. Nothing seems to help. Internet Explorer doesn't do it. Here's what I did:I deleted more than half of my cookies.I deleted almost the rest of them except for a couple of sites. I didn't delete the cookies for the affected Forums.I emptied my cache for Mozilla. Several times.I downloaded ccleaner and ran it. As I mentioned above, I downloaded and installed the most current version of Mozilla. This seems to be a specific problem for Mozilla...and these Forums. I take it back. It happened to my webmail server interface today. It kicked my login off, too.So what's the deal? Here? Ideas? Anything?Delete the cookies for this Forum? Kill Mozilla? K1024
id go with chrome or opera for now. the new firefox has a lot of advanced features that havent even been utilized for any webpages yet (yaaay html with videos!)chrome wont work for a lot of flash things though...but chrome will be faster than firefox, if you use tabs and have a multiple core computer. foibled again
It sounds like your cookies are being wiped before their expiration date. Under the Privacy tab in Options, do you have it set to Remember history or Use custom settings? If it's set to Remember history they shouldn't be expiring prematurely. If you are on custom settings, do you have Accept cookies from sites and Accept third-party cookies selected with Keep until set to they expire? You can also try adding your forum sites to the Exception lists as always allow. You can check individual cookies in the Show Cookies menu to see if they are indeed being wiped before their actual expiration date.FWIW, I have mine set to Remember history and I haven't had a problem. I just recently upgraded to Firefox 3.5.3 and it's still working fine so far.
foibled again
Oh and the expiration dates are set by the site. If you find the dates themselves are too soon (not sure why it would only affect you though), there is a cookie editor addon for Firefox that you can use to manually adjust the expiration dates. Click
Delete the cookies.sqlite file. Close Firefox before attempting to do this.On Windows, this file may be found here:C:\Documents and Settings\[Username]\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\[ProfileID]The next time you open Firefox 3 web browser, your cookies.sqlite file will be re-created and your login cookies will be correctly stored. You can now close your browser and the next time you open it, you will remain logged in to all your favorite sites. If you can't see the folder 'Application Data' in your username folder click on:Tools>Folder Options. Go to the 'View' tab and under 'Hidden files and folders' make sure 'Show hidden files and folders' radio button is on.
