Some People Don't Get It

Okay so some people came over to drink and, of course, this also means smoke hookah cause I live here. To accommodate a large group, I packed a large phunnel with a good flavor to make sure everyone is pleased. The flavor happens to be my current favorite, horchata. No one else had ever heard of Tangiers, so this was even better. The smoking session is going great. Almost instantly after putting coals on, we get a good amount of smoke and flavor. Everyone enjoys the flavor, so all is good. But then they all decide to go out and smoke cigarettes and chat. It has been a little over an hour, and they are still out there. Personally, I recently quit smoking cigarettes and exclusively smoke hookah, which is a trillion times better in my opinion. It just bothers me that I'm nice enough to share my passion, and even more so my tobacco, a large quantity of it as well. Now I'm sitting here smoking alone. A large is way too much for just me. I could have just used my small if I knew this was going to happen. Sorry, I just needed to vent. I plan on setting aside the tobacco and smoking what's left tomorrow, but it just bothers me.

grrrrrrr i know exactly what youre talking about how ever my case is opposite. i pack a small bowl for me and my chick and my lil brothers friends come over. i feel bad so i offer and thats thee last of that bowl lol lol what ever i'll be the nice guy from time to time.

eh now a days I prefer smoking my bowls alone I make exceptions for people who will sit there and smoke the hole bowl with me

yep, i feel you man. very often i pack a bowl, because a certain someone was begging me to pack a bowl, so I do. 2 rotations into the session, they are like "I'm good". It's like wtf. If it's your first time smoking and you feel sick or buzzed or whatever, fine. But if you have smoked with me before you know how long a session lasts, don't ask me to pack a bowl if you are only gonna take 3 hits and bail.

The worst is when we smoke one bowl then someone asks, "can we smoke another bowl" and you pack a bowl for them to take 3-4 hits and say they are all set.

If I am in the mood to puff I don't mind, more for me, but when I go out of my way for others to enjoy my tobacco coals and hookah that I bought, just to give the cold shoulder after its 3 minutes into the session ... now that's some bullshit.

Don't get mad, just move on and next time pack a small and enjoy it, all to yourself!

Cig smokers always do that while smoking hookah with me. they will smoke up a bit then light one up. I got used to it overtime and now expect it everytime i smoke with a cig smoker.

I feel your pain man...... good news is that i smoke several bowls a day so almost any time i've got friends over i've got a bowl going..... on the odd chance that i don't and don't feel like smoking i just straight tell them no and most understand because its my shit.

I'll never load a bowl bigger than a small phunnel though if i'm hosting a party and trying to play pong and not watching the hookah. that way if everyone quits smoking it and leaves coals on or something then there's not a much tobacco lost.

I used to smoke a pack a day for a few years, your just missing that strange cultural "hanging out / passing cigs" which occurs with smoking.

Additionally, they fact that you were "left alone" with the smoking could be a factor...go out and hang out (don't grab a ciggie, or do and be disgusted if your really done).

this actually happened to me couple weeks ago... i was invited to a friends kickback and they insisted that i bring my hookah and setup. after going through alot of arguing and so on i decided to go through the trouble and bring my setup and couple of good sessions for my friend. Next thing i know... after taking 3 puffs eveyrone went inside to chit chat and eat while im the only one smoking outside. i got pretty mad and decided its the last time i take my hookah to anyones get together. Moral of the story, I never take my hookah anywhere now and I only set up and smoke with my close friends that I grew up with and i been smoking with for 4 years and girlfriends. NO CASUAL FRIENDS and PARTY PEOPLE. I am like a hookah nazi now but i am the way i am because of how people act.

This happens to me CONSTANTLY and it is very annoying. It's one thing for me to setup the hookah and have people get distracted etc. it's another thing to be asked to setup the hookah at a party or whatever and then be left alone with it.

I have been through that before...it is very annoying. However when I go to a party it normally is with some people who would love to kick back and smoke and chat with people...We do it outside if the weather is nice and for those that want to drink they drink. I guess its just finding the right people who would love to smoke hookah for hours on end and just chill

This happens all the time, and used to bug me quite a bit. Then I just got into the habit of bringing my hookah outside with me until I found a gentlemen that makes beautiful custom hoses, and had a 10' hose made. Now I just walk outside with my hose and leave the hookah inside

I feel for ya. Luckly the opposite happens around my group. It wasnt always like that though so ive gone through the same frustrations. Now if there is a kick back and the hookah is lit everyone chills around it. If they arent feeling it they just pass it to the next person. If somebody feels like a cig they light it up in the hookah circle.

Happened to me just last night, at a friends who was having a get together. I usually go there to smoke the hookah and I took the F-Line Orange Soda last night. We smoked a few boals of Starbuzz and Romman then relaxed for a while. Then his buddies wanted to try the tangiers after I talked it up. So we wen't out, started a medium bowl and they took about 5 hits each.
Then jumped inside to start drinking.
So there I am...windy day so I had to use 4 Coconara's and 2 extras were sitting on the burner just in case as they were walking back inside.
Not to mention the fact that one of them was just doing the baby hits thing where you barely pull any smoke at all.
Like a half second pull.

So I smoked about an hours worth before ending my night.
I had some personal buisness to take care of and had to go.

I liked the guys. They were all nice and fun. But when it came to my idea of their 'hookah edicite'. They were pretty disrespectful. My buddy was smoking right beside me though. He understood how I felt without me even talking about it.

Leason learned. From now on, no more tangiers for them. Just the smaller shorter bowls of Romman or Starbuzz. Maybe Al Fakher.

I hate bringing my hookahs to parties...people are so annoying. 90% of the time I smoke alone, I like relaxing by myself and enjoying a bowl. The rest of the time it is with people I really care about like my best friend or girlfriend.

Same thing happened to me the other day. Friend of mine came home from the army so I decided to bring my hookah to the place we all hang out. When he first arrives we just chit chat for a while and then they go outside to smoke so I'm like "Great, perfect time to hookah!" So I go get it pack the bowl, and have the coals ready. I don't even get to put the coals on before they head out into the garage, note: his garage has couches and shit but I didn't feel like having to move everything again. I sat there for about a hour and a half smoking by myself. I will say this though, best session I've had so far. They then came back out, lasted from like 2:30 am to 5 am.
