Sonthert
Doctors love the pariah. Something unexplained? Blame it on a pariah. Fat, smoking, thin, diabetic, elderly? Thats obviously the problem.
Jennamagashi
Wow, interesting! This came up on the side of the forum and I actually did have a seizure (just one in my whole life) and it happened at work. I worked at a hookah lounge and it was the end of the night, I was sitting at our juice bar, smoking hookah with our last costumer who was a friend of mine. I had been a little dizzy and felt like I needed to escape the noise (the club music playing loudly over the speakers) and as soon as I got to the bathroom I knew something was wrong. The light was already on but that didn't register at first and I hit the switch and BAM! I hit the floor and started convulsing for what felt like an hour but couldn't have been more than a few minutes. Then I felt incredibly disoriented and couldn't find the light switch and kept falling. I had a lot of factors working against me, light headed, strobe light, hadnt eaten all of my 9 hour shift, it was 2am, and I had been smoking hookah. Bad night, let me tell you. thehelios
This is the first time I've ever seen an ancient thread being revived was being revived for a good reason. That's some scary stuff those seizures are.
Jennamagashi
There's no way to make someone understand the level of fear unless its happened to you.... Makes you feel totally helpless. I couldn't stop my head from smacking the floor and I tried not to bite my tongue off haha I wound up biting the side of it pretty bad though

I've had a few and every time it's like I just get light headed, ears ringing, then blacked out. Of course if I caught it early enough I could prevent it by sitting or laying down and relax. Jennamagashi
Yeah, I was 100% conscious but couldn't control a muscle. After I found the light switch I couldn't stand I felt dizzy and sick and very disoriented. After about 10 minutes, I manager to stumble out of the bathroom to where my boss and friend were, I had to be helped to one of our bench seats and threw up, worst night of my life and had to drive an hour to get home. It was the only seizure I ever had. Edited August 31, 2013 by Jennamagashi
mustang67n
Wow, jenna.. that's insane. I couldn't even imagine being conscious while having a seizure, let alone just a seizure and waking up with people explaining what happened. that's gotta be some intense stuff
Jennamagashi
Yeah, I didn't tell my mom or sisters for two weeks. I had gone to the doctor a few days after the incident and he told me its pretty NORMAL for non seizure prone people to have a seizure every once in a great while. I had never heard that before and I was not happy that he basically said "your dismissed, call me if it happens again"
