Light Natural Coals With A Lighter?

i tried back in the day, made my smoke taste like candles, smoke from the candle gets on the coals and makes it taste funny.

AFAIK a microwave works by vibrating the water molecules in a substance to heat it up. Charcoal hasn't got any (or much) water in it so i@m doubtful it would work.

It doesn't vibrate just the water molecules, it vibrates any polar molecules.

Me and a friend smoked hookah outside today and used a soda can stove and a piece of wire mesh to light the coals (3 coconaras), It took some coaxing and blowing to get them going once the corners were lit but it did work. Still looking for something besides a propane torch becuaes we are not allowed to store propane at the dorm.

I wouldnt advise putting them in a microwave unless you wanna blow your microwave up. Depending how strong your microwave is I really think this can happen.

Here is the fact. Don't use natural coals only QL's. The best QL which you would think are natural once lit are CH QL's by Hookah John. Shipping is expensive, 10.95 so you have to order at least his three pack bundle for it to be worth it otherwise I would use 3 kings.
