r1v3th3ad
So I went up to the local hookah bar last night for my gf's bday...I got talking with the people working there about hookah in general. They couldn't believe how knowledgeable a westerner was about hookah...to the point where I know about as much as they do.They were shocked that I own a MZ, yet alone a KM...I started to tell them about Tangiers and the one goes "hey, he smokes stuff thats like what we have back home"...they couldn't believe that their style of shisha westernized. They told me of one they have brought back to the states, its homemade. Its a moassal that is really creamy and its an orange flavor.I offered for them to smoke Tangiers with with me out of my KM and they told me to come back tomorrow...So I go back today with most of my Tangiers and my KM. They were very impressed by the Tangiers and loved my KM but were down talking the quality because they are not solid metal...rather hollow between the outside and the stem. The owner said no to smoking mine due to something with legality of my stuff being already opened before it came into the store...I ended up trading Summer Solstice Celebration with the owner for some of his homemade Iranian shisha...he really like that flavor because he distinctly smelt mango in it.I'm smoking this stuff now and omg its fucking godly! The clouds are some of the thickest I've ever had and the flavor is intense...its like a creamscycle with more tangerine to it.Anyone else ever had one of these homemade shishas? cb1021
the western market has no idea about real shisha that they run in the middle east. can't be touched. the shisha they prefer is pure fruit and sweet, none of that musky heavy tangiers stuff. shisha is suppose to be sweet and light. Who "decided" that? Shisha is a type of tobacco made especially for hookahs, that´s it. Everybody has different tastes, some prefer lighter brands, some prefer more "heavier" brands. twoapplesplease
Some years ago I got a small amount of home made shisha from saudi. It was strawberry flavor and by far the best smoke I ever had.I was at my freinds place and we had a big feast for there long time freind from saudi was coming to visit. We all had a huge meal and then retired to the deck for tea, dessert and shisha. We setup 6 hookahs for all 6 hookah smokers and smoked this saudi home made strawberry massel. He had brought a lot of it with him because he new it would be greatly enjoyed he must of had 7 kilos of it.Any ways He was kind enuff to give me about 150g worth.Didn't even ask great guy.He must of felt bad for me being the only white guy there and speaking only about 8 words of arabic,But he could tell I really liked to smoke. The only thing that ever came close to that stuff was the real bahraini brand tobacco that came in a jar which is better quality than the tubs.12 years ago I used to get it for $22 for a 250g jar worth every penny and then some.Sadly its become unavailable in the states. Most of the flavors they smoke in the Middle East (For instance, Jordan, Lebanon and Saudi Arabia) are quite heavy and the light and sweet are for the women mostly. (Trust me my friend got shit from his cousin when he ordered a light flavor lol). They mainly smoke Nakhla DA in Beirut and it is def. not a light flavor. Anyway thought I would interject that point. On to the thread...I have smoked some tobacco from Saudi Arabia and it is some good shisha. Great flavor killer buzz and tremendous clouds...its so good...good thing I have a Saudi friend who goes back home frequently and always brings back kilos of tobacco. MrMoodz
I've had 2 flavors from the Iranian brand called Contentment. The stuff was rich and was absolutely amazing. You should ask the lounge owner if he has heard of this brand.
MrIsrael
Lots of shisha bars make their own 'Home flavour'This is quite often a mix of all their flavours, or sometimes a mix on what they have a lot of stock on.Quite often it tastes incredible! In Hendon, London in a Shisha bar, The house flavour was immense, was so upset when they wouldnt sell me any. It was literally warm smoke, and tasted immense, mainly tropical fruit flavour!
JDHarding
Wish there was an importer that would import these "amazing" shisha's to the states, 'cause I'm getting sick of hearing how great they are, and having no way of getting any for myself. So many times I hear "I smoked this amazing stuff 10-15 years ago and it was awesome, but I can't get it anymore!". These must be imported shisha's that are no longer imported due to all the brands statewide now.
