scratchy
I've been having mostly bad sessions wit Nak. Either getting harsh smoke in a few minutes or no smoke at all.I ussualy pack it loosely to the rim and put 2-4 quarters of coals on there, no luck.So I thought I'd try something and pile the heat on there. Same packing but instead of the usual 3 quarters of coal, I decided to try 1 and 'n half. Amazing smoke and minimal harshness. Does that make sense? More heat with Nak = better sessions? It just seems like I was going to burn the hell out of it, but it didn't happen.Weird

It also seems to work well when it is packed quite densely compared with AF/SB/etc.

scratchy
Yeah, Matt's tutorial works very well for me with my homemade phunnel....which was stolen. In my Egyptian though, urgh. I'll have to give this another go with over the top heat and see if that helps.I just found it strange that by putting up more heat, got rid of the harshness
Bulldog_916
My friend, it seems counter intuitive, but its true, Nakhla is a heat sink type tobacco. I've noticed that Mizo is a bit more sensitive, but not much more.

redjako
Unwashed NEEDS to be super packed..I've also noticed on Nakhla Mint (which is pretty "dry" in comparison to other shisha's) needed a TON of heat..I'm talking nearly an entire Exotica stick to get it going, then having up to FOUR pieces in the center Check the vid if you like.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ho_Y7OCd_oIA few rounds, monster smoke. mattarios2
if you are using an egyptian bowl, put your finger in the middle of the bowl, pack around your finger so you have a ring around the edge of the bowl, then pack fluffy in the middle, add coals, and enjoy.I have a OG tutorial coming tonight in a phunnel too, then eventually ill do an egyptian bowl tutorial.
