Starlight Vs Coconara

Recommended Posts

Hi everybody

i am buying some coals for myself. I've always used CocoNaras, but I havent bought coals in a looong time, and I noticed Starlight Coconut Coals here

http://mnhookahs.com/product_info.php?cPat...products_id=256

They seem to be much cheaper, but how is quality??

I sort of want to buy them tonight, hopefully the shipment can come in by the next weekend, cuz im out of coals (

Thanks

I know some other members have said MN has been a little slow or unresponsive lately, so I'd call and make sure they can process your order and ship it out in good time before you actually place it. Just want to be on the safe side. I haven't tried the starlight coals, but I really like the CH coals, more so than cocos... Edited by Jeff_T

If you get them, I'd be interested in the review. I am trying all the natural coals I can get my hands on. I personally prefer Shishaco naturals to Coco's. But tried Stargate naturals recently (made from wood, unfortunately) and I love love love them. Didn't like AF naturals much.

I'm not a huge fan of CH QL's. I ordered the naturals but was sent the QL's instead, dangit. Definitely prefer my other naturals to the CH QL's.

Good luck if you get them!

Ok, sort of got an idea that CH stands for )) Thanks for a PM from a member...

best place to buy that then? )) If MNHookah been slow, who would get the stuff out the fastest? I usually buy from H-S, but they process an order for a couple of days, and then it takes 5-6 days to get to me... ((

Maybe it depends on what day you're ordering? I ordered from H-S on Wednesday and my order is due to arrive tomorrow.

In my opinion I would say that it is a tie between CH and Coconaras. I really don't see much of a difference between the two although I do like to show Hookah John some love because he really treats people right. Starlight's are in my opinion lower quality then the other two. They seem way "finer" and for some reason like to leave a bit of a taste with them.(but not all the time)

Starlights are smaller then both CH and Cocos. My friends all go to the starlights because you can buy them in town and i just stick with CH or Coco's. CH's are nice because they come in a Kilo box which seems to last longer i think its something like 108 squares per box. So you get a bit more per box as well.

I'd order the CH 3 pack from hookahjohn, they come out to $11.67 a box and there should be a coupon to get at least 10% off

i think i'll do that ... try something new..

Yeah an if you dont like them ill pm you my adress wink.gif

Kidding, all 3 brand are great but CH and Cocos area pretty much unmatched in the coconut side of things.

Coconara and Shishaco are my favorite coals. I have Starlights and they have sparked/popped on me a few times while lighting. Coconara and Shishacos last a little longer in my opinion.

Personally I prefer cocos.

You can get them for 11.50-12 If you buy 3-5 boxes. $1 cheaper than CH's. You use less of them compared to CH so even though you get more CH coals, I'd say they give out roughly the same amount/time of heat.

Coco's barely ash, CH's ash sticks to the coal so you are forced to ash them.

Overall you will be fine with either of them, I prefer cocos though.

I like the CH coals, but I like the cocos better. The cocos last a bit longer, seem to give off a little more heat (can be a plus or minus), ash less, and don't smell when you light them. The last is the most important to me. In the summer the CH coals are fine because I can put the coil burner outside. With the cocos I can leave the burner inside.

if CH coals put out the same amount of heat and you get the same longevity...how do you use less cocos?
