Might have to try this Lucid you speak of. No acclimation necessary? Should be pretty easy then, huh?

AF's okay, but a lot of their flavors are hit and miss for me. However, everyone has their own tastes, so something I hate someone else would probably enjoy. I tried Tang Peach, which everyone said was amazing, and I HATED it. I don't think the acclimation or anything was wrong, but I just didn't like the smell or flavor. Same goes for different brands too. Some people hate Tang due to that harsh tingle you get in the throat when you start out smoking it. Yet others love it and have gotten past that tingle, like me. Some hate AF, others love it. I thought AF's grape flavors were interesting, and so was their watermelon. But their double apple and cherry are nasty, to me. Nakhla's got better apple and cherry flavors. I didn't like AF's coffee related flavors. Bleh. Other makers can do coffee flavors better. Not everyone uses the same grade tobacco or the same flavorings. Some could be just using flavored syrup, others could be boiling the actual ingredients and extracting the natural flavor out, then baking that flavor into their baccy. I think Tang does that, though I dunno about the boiling part.

So it's really not a good idea to stick to just one shisha 'cause of price, or because what was tried "so far" has been good, or because one brand gives a better buzz. All shisha makers seem to have a couple crap flavors and a couple really amazing ones.

I think older AF was very good. It seems they've changed their recipes, possibly to save on money or something, but the older stuff about 5 or so years ago was awesome.

I agree with the original poster (although I cannot get tangiers here so cant comment there). Al Fakher is so good. The smoke is just so much denser than nahkla and al waha as well as some other brands ive tried. So easy to work with too. And flavours are yummy. It is by far my favourite brand of shisha.
