Tall Or Short Better?

I bought a small 10-12 inch hookah from a cig shop for $20 and some times it hits good sometimes not. I've ordered a 31 Syrian hookah and was wondering if I should expect more from it then my 10-12 inch one

Depends on the hookah really. Mya qt/bambinos are small about 10 inches and rip just as good as any other hookah.

Studies have shown larger hookahs yield less carbon monoxide intake.

Also a taller hookah gives the smoke more time to cool down. Personally I think the advantage is null, but some do say they notice better flavor from taller hookahs.

Overall I think as long as the hookah is quality, tall medium or short, will all give you more or less the same results.

I would think so.I have had some good small hookahs,medium hookahs and large hookahs.And over all the ones around 27-32 inches have performed best but there was one 16-18 incher that was amazing and thats because it was a single cast solid brass egytian that my good freind had and we used it non-stop.And I've got a 22 works great and a 27 also good.
even the free-bee mya from H-S I thought smoked good.I've had cheap chinese also smoke great

I've only smoked two sessions since having my hookahs (30" Pharaoh and an 18" Mya), and this second session on my smaller one is going much better than my first session with my big one, better flavour, better clouds, everything is much better even with the small amount of experience I had last night during my first session.

+1. I think its more in the bowl packing and heat management. Obviously if the hookah is leaky or has a really narrow downstem and hose its not going to hit the best but still.

I also feel like it comes down to the user more so than the hookah. But then again, I can tell a difference in the smoke quality after upgrading to a better brand. Cause there's no way I could ever believe a "pocket" or "travel" hookah could ever be as good as a small Mya.

you could also say that a quality km, razan,mammor,narbish hose can improve any hose no matter what size hookah.

I have both a 14" hookah and a 22" hookah....and I must say that the 22" smokes alot better. Then again, the 14" is a cheap havana hookah that i got off a street vendor and the 22" is a MZ

as stated above, the size doesn't really affect much....here's what i'd focus on (in order):

1. Looks - yeah, it doesn't affect how it smokes....but, i don't want to own an ugly hookah. ha!
2. Pull - this is my main concern...the looser the pull, the better. a QT is good, but won't compare to my KMs...
3. Seals - this is important too, but for the most part...you can JB weld leaks...
