Arcane
I know there are some D2 players here and want some advice on what class i should play if i want to solo through the entire game up to Hell difficulty...Here's my interests:1. Melee Class2. Not too challenging to learn3. Good CC or able to take on several mobs at once...Uh...that's about it...haha... Tom1
I'd say smiter or java zon
Click
wow fuck. I just typed a whole novel and I hit some damn button and it disappeared. Anyways... I would make a whirlwind barb. I play a sorc and my friend plays a WW barb and he has been able to solo up to hell so far with ease in average gear. I would wait till patch 1.13 is released if you plan on making a ladder character because it will be made a normal character once patch hits.Check out this fourm. phantastik
i agree, javazons are great cc, but up towards hell they suffer due to some immunes/damange output.ww babas are pretty good, granted if you keep your equipment upgraded.smiters are the best bet if you can manage a great shield, like alma negra or a runeworded one.zealots are also pretty good, but likewise if you dont keep the attack speed up to par you'll find yourself dying in a mob before you can take a few of them out.If you want to be really OP, hammerdins are the way to go, although its not a melee class. hammerdins are great cc, just run in the center of the screen and spam blessed hammers. Arcane
thanks guys...i'm thinking about making a smiter then. maybe a WW barb as backup. also, i heard a lot about hammerdins...and though i prefer melee, i may give them a shot anyways.... Click
thread jack. You hear that in 1.13 you'll be able to respec like in WoW? Just your talents not your attributes though. I wonder how much or what it will cost to respec.
Tyler
Honestly, assassin would be the best without uber gear. Their charges make AoE CC easy and aren't too entirely gear dependant
phantastik
omg really?! respec available in 1.13??! it'll save me like 30 minutes for my low level duelers xD

I started playing again a couple months ago and got my sorc to level 50, but then read that 1.13 is coming. No point in playing now since the ladder will be reset.
