Buford
I've been washing out my Mya QT's hose about every two weeks with plain water, and it flushes brown crud out every time. However, the smell and the flavors of the tobaccos I've been smoking hangs around in the hose. I'm wondering if anyone has ever tried using ethyl alcohol (the drinking kind, so cheap vodka for example) to dissolve the nasty crud that builds up in a hose and then rinse out with water. If so, does it remove the lingering tastes/smells and not harm the hose?It seems reasonable since you can use vodka to clean crud out of a briar pipe, but I don't know if alcohol might damage the interior of a shisha hose. steve07
I use vodka (very cheap) but I dilluted it with water for my hose and straight with my briars I also let the hose hang so that it dries completly before I use it again
JByer323
Try some lemon juice in in the hose, and slosh it around. Use white vinegar in the base and stem.
pavlakos_politakos
i just use lemon juice on every piece of my hookah and it leaves it clean and smelling fresh.
HookahEnthusiast
ethyl alcohol might be a little to heavy for your hookah hoses and it might leave a bad after taste like soap does..id try warm water and lemon juice first.
Alqoshnia
how long should we soak the whole hookah including hose with vinegar or lemon juice. I just washed with warm water then swished around the lemon juice (not dilluted) for about 5 minutes and let it sit for another 5-10 minutes but didnt work significantly. And have you guys found any cons to using lemon juice/vinger over time
Lukasa
warm water and lemon juice for the win. theres no danger of crappy taste or inhaling alcohol fumes.
sheeshabum
I've been using lemon in the hose for a long time. I hold the hose upright after adding the juice with the top end open for a bit and then spill it out, and repeat a few times.Don't forget to hang up the hose to dry out for awhile. Sonthert
I would probably use rubbing alcohol, instead of wasting vodka. Yes it will work, but it will attract moisture before it evaporates...rubbing alcohol will do it less so since it doesn't form an azeotrope.
