JDHarding
I've heard that the finer shisha is cut up, or shredded, the more powerful the flavor and buzz is. The twigs and such, shredded up, can actually give off flavor and buzz. So has anyone taken a food processor or similar shredder to their shisha? Desi Murli is the strongest shisha I know of, and it looks like someone took a shredder to it, which can explain why it's so strong. Thoughts? Opinions? Jabbles180
Haha. I actually just thought about this again not to long ago. I finally thought i would buy the cheap $9 food processor at walgreen that sits right next to the single coil burner. I've tested it now for quite a few bowls. Trying fine chopped, almost minced, and just shredded a bit. All of this with tangiers OG. I say shredded a bit smaller it is definately easier to pack a bowl that is consistantly packed throughout. I think this is the main reason why grinding the tobacco helps. I can tell you that with this consistancy it has made for Eric like smoothness of tangier OG every bowl i've made since i started grinding it. (to be fair I had my packing technique down before this so i was already haveing good rounds about every bowl with the occasional off pack)More flavor? Maybe... it does seem to acclimate better.More Buzz? I dont really get buzzed anymore so i cant really comment. I would say about the same.finer shred is best over all. Keeps a bit of air around the tobacco but is more consistant density wise.Finely ground take a bit of work to fluf.Menced is just too hard to work with.Other probably know more about desi murli than me but i think its the strongest because it has the highest niccotine levels. mattarios2
The more mushy it is the harder it is for heat from the coals to pass through the shisha down to the bottom of the bowl. Giving you worse flavor, a prematurely burned bowl, and a shitty session.I say it is no good.

liquidglass
Interesting, i had considered this before. But never tried it. Simply based on the fact that when packing a bowl especially when mixing flavors I would take a kitchen knife reserved just for shisha and mince it a bit. Can't say if it was any better or worse, but I might go back and try again. The only downside I can think of (assuming there are benefits) is that you would lose juices during processing. And it would be yet another thing to maintain.
