philliyxx
I recently went to the place where I buy my coals but they were out and I can't find any more... Is there an alternative to using coal besides cocoanut shells? Thanks.
mushrat
If you use bulk, or atleast CAN use bulk, I suggest getting all hardwood BBQ charcaol. THIS IS NOT KINGSFORD BRIQUETTES. I'm talking about stuff that says 100% real hardwood or the like. It may also says "lump charcoal" This stuff you can use. For quicklights... try a "new age" shop, a hippy drippy shop, any place that sells incense, a religiouse supply shop, all these places may have rolls of quicklights. The disks are also used to burn incense crystals like frankensense or copal. No middle eastern groceries near by?
ArdvarkOfDoom
Heh, i've run into this problem... I live in a little bible belt city in Alabama... My roomie and I got a local tobacco store to start carrying shisha and coals... and then what happens? It gets set on fire. So yeah, closest place to get hookah supplies without going online is an hour away or so. I ended up just buying bulk coals off the net
txbrit31
Check a religious supply shop - most that service Catholic churches will offer swift-light or three kings for use in church censers.
philliyxx
wow thanks I've been asking around and you guys are the only ones that gave me some solid answers. I'm pretty sure I use quick lights but what is bulk, My hookah I wrap the tin foil around and put the coal on that. So can i use that BBQ coal your talking about? Is bulk the metal screen thing? Sonthert
Yeah, it should say "Natural charcoal" and "No Additives" somewhere on the bag.
philliyxx
Cool cool so those are 100% harmless and I can buy them where? Walmart, Publix, Krogers? Basically any grocery store?
