momatik
Have someone take you to Steinway in Queens. It's not too far outside of Manhattan, maybe 15 minutes. The lounges there are great, and there is good halal food there as well.I don't know of any places that sell Tangiers. My recommendation for halal food:-Kabul Kabob in Queens. then you won't be too far form a lounge-Platters/Chicken and Rice on 53rd and 6th in Manhattan, then head over to Queens for shisha.Enjoy! momatik
When people say Halal restaurants, they are most commonly referring to meat, because it has to be prepared in accordance to Islamic teaching. To simplify it, the animal is killed in what we believe to be the most humane manner, and the animal is killed in the name of God. mr.shisha
How long are you going to be in Manhattan? I would personally recommend ordering a shit load of Tangiers from an online vendor using free shipping and then bring that backk to the UK <

newjacksm
In the General area. One is called Fire and Ice. Terrible place... They have carpet in there with hookahs on there. No fire exit and a sweet set up of rockband so you can play when you smoke hookah. Nice recipe for DEATH when your smashing on the drums smoking hookah and you knock over your coals on the carpet and you have all those teeny boppers scream crowding the front door.Ugh I hate that place. Hobocans
San Diego isn't in LA, its a separate city a couple hours south (depending on what part of LA's geography you are starting from). Most of the NYC hookah places (shops/bars) are run by indian/arabs guys thus most of their stuff is arab/indian in origin. Very tough to find American brands of tobacco out here, mostly because these guys have an idea of what hookah "should be" and that unfortunately doesn't include anything invented in the last 15 years. But on the plus side: Steinway rocks. I'd recommend Middle Eastern Nights. Great food, cheap, good Nakhla smoked out of traditional Egyptian pipes. Its the closest I've come to being back in Egypt.
