well i wasnt sure if germany would be tangiers friendly either but i had to try it. And the vortex is a good investment but doesnt compare to a phunnel with a scalli mod imo the holes are to high on the little tower thingy. If they were lower to the base it might work better.

now y would u say something like that?

because my area is not og tangiers friendly..lol

Have you tired?

I remember i hit up Guess Hookah when they have a lounge behind the store. And he had tangiers. It was acclimated But he just sprinkled it in, smoked ok but never as good as if it was packed correctly.

Do you leave your windows open? AC?

Honestly you just have to keep an eye on the weather. Keep the lid open on the container during steady days, and when ya see rain in the forecast, cover it up.

I'm really having a hrd time deciding whether I should order some OG as well as some Lucid for my next order. I'd decided to stick with lucid to avoid the acclimation issues.. But i just really gotta try it at some point.

Gonna be an expensive order though!

Smoking Tang Sour right now, myself. Just tried the "fork packing" method by picking up chunks of shisha, placing them overpiled in the phunnel, then packing them down with a fork.. I sorta had the shisha packed slanted down towards the middle hole.. nice method! Since I place the coals on the outer edge, this worked beautifully. I used to just pile it in and let the foil pack it down, but this is better!

I be smokin.. _sheesha2__by_Majunka_aurore.gif

I'm happy you are enjoying it, at least thats one guy supporting you.

Ya know, I've heard a lot of Tangiers loyalists make statements like "If it doesn't work, its because of user error, not where you live.". I am hesitant to say that's entirely true, but in some cases thats true. Some people PM me and say "Here's the problem, what can I do to make it work right?" Those people are generally having real problems. Other people just sit and whine about it, why would anybody assume its anything other than user error? The problem-children assume its not them and its Tangiers. Why is that? Its like a trying to teach yourself algebra and not being able to solve a problem you come across. Do you blame mathematics or yourself? Perhaps you live in a magical area where math problems are unsolveable. rolleyes.gif The person in question obviously presumes they've done everything right, but in many cases hasn't. I'm not saying Tangiers is the easiest tobacco in the world to use by any means, I accept all the responsibility in that matter. I drove across the country with four tubs of tobacco and, without acclimating, had only one problem smoking and that was when I was smoking in sub-freezing weather with really hard, rusty well water, outside in a metal tractor shed with the stench of diesel oil in the air. And even then , the flavor was just really, really faint. Not harsh. I smoked in all sorts of places, all across this great country...and this was pre-phunnel, too. Using nothing but a Tangiers Egyptian head, a cigarette lighter and Japanese coals. I've personally smoked in the same areas people say "They can't smoke in". Only one problem to date. smile.gif

A big props out to Mattarios and the guys helping me to try to find out what specifically is causing the recurring problems. We're all making progress, I think. We've hammered out the handling problems, now we're dealing with the specifics. I hope all the guys who decided it was more fun to make baseless claims than try and resolve the problem won't buy Noir when we do solve it. I hope not anyways. I'm glad Mattarios hasn't given up after two weeks. Good man! He's such a good guy, if we still don't get it after awhile, I might send him some more for free if he runs out of test tobacco. I might even send him some Nakhla in appreciation.

Like I said Sinclair, glad you are enjoying it, start a German fan club for me! Hang out with Pinky. He's got a grip of the stuff. He's in South Central West Germany, I believe. tongue.gif I love watermelon. By a coincidence, I am smoking it right now (With white grape, 25%). You said you didn't mind a thread jack. ermm.gif smile.gif

Tell me, NOB, what do you have to base your assertion on that your area has anything to do with your problems? Thats not what the other people in Illinois who smoke and love Tangiers are saying at all...are they just crazy?

I literally asked him the same thing in chat like 4-5 days ago. I told him I live in Michigan, and I know two other people that live in Illinois and we all really enjoy tangiers. smile.gif

im really glad im able to get tangiers to smoke to. It may be all i ever smoke from this point on. And as far as getting a cult.. I mean a german fan club, ill see what i can do. I already have large number of americans loving the tangiers out here. i got them hooked with lucid. Maybe ill go down the to the hookah lounge here in town and tell them to try this stuff and if they want more let me know. And the head shop to where i buy a lot of supplies. Ill ask the guy thats always there lol.

I do have one question eric. As far as flavorings goes is there a big difference between cactus fruit and summer soltice. To be honest i thought soltice tasted a lot like cactus fruit. Cactus fruit is my favorite flavor to daTe so no complaints, just curious

I'm such a good guy? Please Eric, you sent me 40-45 bucks worth of shisha + postage within like 48 hours of getting my address, myself and everyone else on this forum know who really is a good guy. Tomorrow is a new day and I am giving it another go, as I said the 32g failed, I am gonna try 25 or so tomorrow, if that fails ... we go back to acclimation as decided!

I was gonna try it tonight but it started raining and the humidity/dew point went all out of whack. The rain stopped and everything settled back down so tomorrow should be a good day for another try.

And yes, with the help of Eric and his questionnaires, I am actually able to get the tobacco to smell good, but it seems as though something small, very specific, is causing no flavor ...we will nail it, I KNOW WE WILL!

Oh and so sorry for the thread jack, but Eric I am using water that comes from a well, that shouldn't be a problem right?
