Bandito
Hi, i recently got in a new order of a few 250g tubs of al fakher and a couple 50g packs. When opening the bags in the tubs, the very first scent of them were great and accurate. Then as i opened them up all the way, they acquired their own unique but repulsive smells. Well i had 250g of peach, watermelon, and apple bahraini flavor. Peach smelled like peach at first, watermelon like watermelon jolly ranchers, and i can't remember apple bahraini, sweet i think it was, not much apple scent. Well i let them acclimate in tubberware, and the watermelon and peach smell nice again, but the apple bahraini smell hasn't changed! It smells medicinal (in a nasty way) with a hint of mint, thats the best way i can describe it, there is a world of difference between it and the smell of my layalina apple bahraini. So has this happened to any of you with this flavor? Should i try letting it acclimate overnight to see if it helps? Or is this a bad batch, or even worse is this the accurate smell of the flavor? And i got 50g of grape, absolute ketchup, thank god i only got 50g because of the warnings i read around here hahAlso, you might like knowing i live in HUMID SOUTH FLORIDA Edited September 25, 2009 by Bandito
ilikemyusername
hey I live in FL too. The bah apple may have gotten some cat pee in it.As far as the AF grape / ketchup thing goes, trust me, its in the power of suggestion. Trust me, its one of my absolute favorite flavors and yes it smells like ketchup, but it also smells like AF grape. Just smoke it, you'll like it. but your cat peed in the apple. Arcane
well, 2 out of the 3 came around, so i really doubt its a bad batch....b.apple smells like anise, mint and some kind of reddish apple...the anise smell my be reminding you of a medicine smell....so, that could be it...but, yeah...AF's b.apple is pretty noticeable on the anise....i like it though. Bandito
Alright thanks arcane and username, for the most part that helped and i feel pretty confident and happy about the flavors i got. Idk what anise smells like but it may be what i'm smelling, i'll try acclimating overnight and see what happens. And i meant i thought i got a bad tub of the bah. apple flavor, but it may be the humidity because unfortunately tangiers wont acclimate where i'm located (seriously) so i'm just glad 2/3 flavors came around! mattarios2
ive had mixed results doing that, a few friends said ketchup and a few said ... mmmm yummy. either way, i came to the realization, 9 out of 10 times the grape tastes fine if you let it sit out a bit. ilikemyusername
Don't get me wrong here, my grape always smells like ketchup (if i look for ketchup) but tastes delicious.
Hippo_Master
Why are you acclimating al fakher? It belongs in the trash anyways.
JDHarding
I didn't like Al Fakher's watermelon myself. I think Nakhla's watermelon is a better choice. Their Miso Watermelon should be a little more modern like Al Fakher, but better flavor.
