alright so i asked him bout it and he said its all about perception. And seeing as how so many people associate hookah with nht then it might not be a good idea. Although he didnt say no. so my thinking is if im posted at an isolated post with no one else there then we have no problems right? guess im picking up some ql 3 kings after work and packing my smallest hookah in my personal bag i bring to work tonight. I just gotta figure out which is smaller my qt or my no name mini(i found out thattexas hookah carries it. They just call it mini hookah that lights up. Or something like that lol)

I'd be careful if I was you. I was talking to an SF guy last night at the lounge who told me it wasn't against any AFI to smoke hookah, so they can't really do anything to you for it. I've been trying to find a reference to hookahs in the AFI but have been unsuccessful.

However, I do know that perception is reality, and if someone thinks you're smoking NHT, you might as well be. I know there are a lot of first shirts who will confiscate any hookah they find in the dorms. In fact, a good friend of mine that I went to basic and tech school with had that happen to him.

The Air Force (military in general) is full of close-minded "good ol' boys" who see a water pipe and think NHT no matter what you tell them. It's a shame because most of them have been to the desert and have seen hookahs in action. In fact, I know they actually sell hookahs and shisha at the BX in Al Udid. Still, I'm not sure it's worth the hassle. I live in base housing and I smoke in my house and on my porch. But I'm always on the look out for prying eyes of those who might have a problem.

i wouldnt do it. if some shit went down while you were on the clock and hitin the pipe you bet they will blame the hookah. i say this not knowing specifically what your day to day activities at work include

but, it is true that perception is reality in the military. you just have to be willing to accept that you may catch some shit first, then be able to defend yourself against their accusations.

lol well i havent had a post yet where i can bring my hookah. I am getting posted at a slow gate today, so i brought my little electric skillet and im cooking steak for lunch!

+1 I just had a cluster fuck event with a closed minded prick of a cop who broke my phunnel and said he is going to confiscate my hookah for testing next time he sees me with it. Ya you can say "fuck em" but that doesn't really get you anywhere, they could give two shits, their main goal is to cause you grief. Not really worth the hassle in my opinion.

Alright i hate to bring up a zombie thread but i just wanted to post that i did take my hookah to work with me. Most of my leadership found out i had it and no one said anything, they just gave me crap because i accidently burned a whole in my backpack as well as kind of got like an iron type burn on my pants to. Work was enjoyed with the hookah and the day went quicker lol.

If I was in this mans situation I would most likely try and smoke hookah at work. I cant control my urges sometimes if there's chance it might work out
