What's The Best Way To Pack Nak In A Tangiers Phunnel?

Recommended Posts

It's gonna be my first phunnel, and wanna get it right the first time. How do I pack the bowl with Nak, and also AF, and what hole pattern on the foil do I use? I ordered from HookahJohn last night, should ship today. About how long should it take for me to get my phunnel and Nak, you think? Thanks guys.

I'm gonna be using a QT with Cocos. Two should be good? Thinking about getting one of those glass screens from MNHookah.com... Not sure yet, though...

Use foil, not glass screen. Use 2 cocos cracked in half for nakhla, and use 2 cocos for AF, possibly 3, haven't smoked it in a while.

Nakhla pack it like the tutorials, if its og use the og tutorial if its mizo use the mizo tutorial.

Biggest thing is pack it in there good! Don't be stingy, phunnels like a lot of shisha!

Pack nakhla tighter than AF, you can sprinkle AF or just take chunks out of the tub and drop it in the bowl.

HJ uses fedex home, usually takes 4 or 5 days and I am on the other side of the country. You are in TN so it should take about 4 days or so, send him an email for a tracking number and he will send you one so you know when you are gonna get it.

Hole patterns is shown in the tutorials and AF, most seem to have success with small pin holes.

Good luck

Mattarios is absolutely the correct resource to listen to here.

I smoke Nak and AF in my QT and small or mini phunnel with cocos all the time.

For nakhla - I just push it in there, about the same density it's in the box. For AF, slightly fluffier. Pack it up at or slightly above the rim and push down with the foil so it's about level then stretch the foil back out so it's tight and flat.

I use the same pattern for just about everything - holes everywhere and a small hole over the phunnel hole. I personally like slightly bigger holes to a ton of little ones.

I use 2 cocos to start - directly across from each other and rotating them towards each other, and when they get down to about 1/2-1/3 left on each, I push them together and put a new one on in the area that didn't have any coals earlier.

Thanks guys. Can't wait to try it out. Definitely going to try the chocomint first, then the mizo guava. Also, the glass screen has been ruled out.

Smoked mizo guava a few nights ago. best smoke ive had in awhile, my whole house still smells like it. so much flavor

Actually I just perfected my AF packing technique in my phunnel a few days ago. So I hope this will work for you.
1. I sprinkle it in with my thumb, ring, middle and index finger then gently pack it down. Continue until its a little over the rim not even a cm maybe 4mm at most.
2. Grab your foil(I prefer HD foil) and put it on ver taught so its nice and straight.
3. I use a thumb tack and make 3 rings of holeson the outside working towards the middle.
4. 3 coco's for the first 40 minutes then I usually use 2 for the rest of my 2 hour session

I'm kinda wishing I had gotten mizo watermelon instead of the strawberry. Oh well, I would've gotten the strawberry at some point anyway. This just means mizo watermelon will be in my next order with HookahJohn. Can't wait to try Nak for the first time, and also try out different hole patterns with the phunnel. Gonna do holes all over with 2 cocos split in four halves first...
