Km Hookah, Rust/corrosion Free?

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

with the rebate Hookahjohn is giving, i am looking into getting a single hose KM hookah that won't rust over time or have any corrosion. I read that the Kafae, the Mashal and the Hafa are made from brass, so those ones are rust free. I would like to know if the NEW butterfly, Exotica and double pear are also made with brass? It seem like they are made from stainless Steel, so i guess that there won't be any rust with them either right? Can someone clarify this so i can make an order by tonight?

Thanks a lot!

I think all KM's are chrome covered brass or bronze.. and I've never heard of one rusting.

You are silly, most are supposed to be stainless but more often than not you get galvanized. I'm not sure there is a rustproof KM being imported anymore. Look into the AF syrian or the Nour syrian if you want a nice solid brass rustproof hookah!

You sure they're not solid brass? I thought that was how the trimetals were made? Unless those are just covered with that colored metal, and not solid. My KM Sig Ice, where the welds are there's visible brass there. I don't think they brass-welded the pipe. Is that even possible? Brass weld?

I know the purge valve is pure brass. It's not chromed or stainless or whatever. It's brass. The hose port is also brass 'cause parts of it are not covered, and brass is visible.

i have 3 different name brand egyptians setup out side, all of which once used will stay there until the next use which is when I will clean them. one has a tad bit of rust and that is not a KM. I can't guaruntee KM's will not rust but the 10 or so KM's I have personally owned have not rusted. better to ask some other owners so I don't just sound like a salesperson. and to throw a monkey wrench in this whole threa I am about to pack the rusting hookah for a smoke right now;P the rust is so minimal.

mashal's and tri metals have brass at the heart, but the rest of the hookah is galvanized steel. If you are dumb and leave the stem in the water for days on end it will rust. If you smoke, and when you are done take out the pipe, and get around to cleaning it in a day or two, it will be just fine.

The kafae is pure brass, the entire innards of the pipe is brass. Personally I don't think it is necessary unless you wanna be ridiculously lazy with your pipe and not have to worry about it rusting.

All of my KM's have never had a problem.
