mikeburns
Hi all, ive been reading online about everyones problems with the ketchup tasting Al Fakher grape. I got a 50 gram sample box today and it smells amazing... smells like a very sweet grape, almost over poweringly strong, opened bag smells the same (with a slightly less sweet smell after aclimating a few hours). So I fugured maybe Al Fakher has sorted this problem out. Admittedly I havent yet smoked it but everyone has stated the smell of ketchup is overpowering even after just smelling it, I get no hint of any ketchup like smell at all. I thought it might be a good idea for people who have gotten a good batch to give us the batch dates (date of manufacture and expiration) and size of package too. Note: Please make sure you report on legit Al Fakher products rather than ripoffs that have floated around. A good way to check this is to look for where it was made, legit Al Fakher is made in Ajman - United Arab Emirates. My Batch - good batchpro - Dec 2008exp - Dec 2010size - 50 gram Edited September 28, 2009 by mikeburns
mjdx88
If you search around you will find that this was all hype, there was never any problem with AF grape, it was the fact that the smell was similar to Ketchup, and since you were thinking it smelled like it, you tasted it. I have never had an issue with AF grape, I have been smoking it before this even started. I have noticed the smell but then when I think grape, I smell grape, taste grape. mikeburns
Suppose this post is therefore redundant, there were lots of people who stopped smoking it because of this, i kinda just wanted to say that its all good now, and if they are all ok then no need to worry, mods please delete if you feel necessary... Chreees
My AF grape smells like ketchup horribly, so bad that I decided not to smoke it, chose another flavor instead- AF double apple. Double apple smells like licorice, buts tastes great, not like licorice, but like apples. I'm thinking the same with grape. Smells bad, tastes great. I'll give the grape another go sometime soon... Crys
I think this is common with some AF flavorsfor example...I thought the Lemon smelled like Lysol....but it ended up tasting like a very sweet lemon candy....great for mixes

mikeburns
I absolutely love AF two apple, I am a huge advocate of that flavour. Its funny as the smell of all AF shisha's straight out of a freshly opened bag is quite different to the smell of it after a few days in a container. two apples smells alot more of anise after being opened for a while, but i love the anise taste and oh the clouds of AF are just soooo thick, after smoking two apple I just fell in love with the brand

mitchard
Mid 2008 grape has been good. Smoking it right now without a single complaint. It all smells like ketchup, even the stuff before the "bad dates" came up. It all tastes the same. Delicious.
