JDHarding
Celtic music, dude..Haha.. sounds silly, but it's atmospheric.. Something about Enya and Enigma that's so relaxing and calming.. Just don't do techno/trance. It's not very good "mood" music.Though I write techno/trance music.. so this isn't very good advertising on my part. jordanneff
Although sometimes I'll just pop in my ipod and listen to whatever suits the mood (Counting Crows are a great chill band to listen to while smoking) a lot of times I gotta bust out the classic Arabic/Middle Eastern music mix. I gotta say, I only know a handful of the artists by name because there are so many that aren't labeled or just song titles, but if you're into that kinda stuff when smoking check out Amr Diab, Nancy Ajram, and you gotta check out Daler Mehndi. Here check out these songs in particular:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uOwerd_CIwk#t=1m38sComplete classic, always good for a smokehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wae5Vm2EuMAExtremely chill, listen to and smoke with low lights for surehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-bAN7Ts0xBoAnd of course... you can't go wrong if you start your night out with this
Jondd88
This is an interesting topic. I'm with Nights of Baghdad: When I smoke by myself I usually like to watch a movie and when I smoke with my friends we generally watch TV. I have only been to a lounge once and I found that the music was too loud. I agree that loud music is counterproductive to what a lounge should really be, a place to relax and socialize, which is hard to do with a DJ punching you repeatedly in the eardrums with his noise pollution... antouwan
depends on the mood. sometimes if i'm with a couple buddies we'll listen to some kinda classical arabic while drinking coffee and playing backgammon. when i'm by myself however, it depends. if i'm in like a boho/gypsy mood i love to listen to Beirut or even Hello Seahorse!. light alt rock stuff and i'll listen to Mew or Logh or the Appleseed Cast. for lounge type music, nothing at all beats the thievery corporation. and basshunter for more up beat electro/techno stuff. atticus
Six Organs of Admittance is probably my go to hookah music. Glad we brought this thread back. Good music with hookah makes my sessions twice as good, but I don't know much of the cool Middle Eastern stuff.
