Al Fakher 24" Small Solid

AF Hookahs are better than KM in my opinions. They look better and work the same.

i dont like the look of af's stems..

Strange strange man...guys and girls are always trying to sex up my 36" solid.

Is the grommet to the base / stem hard as hell on those small 24" ones? I had to sand paper mine down and still grease it with shisha prior to using it.

Nah, mine's great. Loose ribs, but seals tight.

I just bought an AF small solid of my own, got it on the 2nd, I've smoked it about 5 times already. Started off with my buddy's Starbuzz Sex on the Beach which was nice, then got my own Tangiers Lucid Mimon (tasty!). Also bought some of the CH coals from hookahjohn.com plus a Vortex bowl. I'm not very experienced at smoking, and one of the hardest things I was finding was how to get it to cloud nicely. Got great taste, great pull, the purge works great, but either the coals aren't burning hot enough, haven't packed the bowl properly, or am just screwing something up. Bought a windcover and that helps quite a bit as well, but I'm still lacking something. Any thoughts?

As far as the hookah itself, I'm happy with most things, but there's one thing I'm none too pleased with: I was reading some reviews on here before the hookah got here, and determined that the base/stem fit was tight, which it IS (flattened the base grommet to a pancake and even split it near the top, and the fit's still tight). Ordered a modern medium pyramid base with a .3" wider diameter than the AF base, both for the wider diameter and for a more stable base, and I'm going to need to get a new base grommet. Depending on whether the base is as deep as the stock AF base, I might need to take some off the down stem with a hack saw, file out the burrs, and solder a bead around the lip.

I bought a blue custom narbish from hookahjohn.com on a recommendation from a friend of mine, and the difference between the pull on the narbish vs. the stock AF hose is monumentally different. I had had some worries that the narbish, since it's bigger & bulkier than the AF hose, would have trouble seating properly in the hose port, but my fears were banished the first time I lit it up & took a puff.

I'm definitely biased because this is my first hookah, but I'm a big fan. Great advice really helps.

Nice purchase! I love the design on the AF hookahs. Post those pics of your completed hookah when you get a chance. And pictures really don't do justice to the size and thickness of the clouds since they are "transparent."

Yeah, I'll post more pics once I get the grommets, Narbish hose, and the trays.

On a side note, mattarios2, you are now my god. I worship you. Yet again your Nakhla tutorial is giving me one of the best sessions I've ever had. Big-ass clouds, great flavor, and I'm buzzing like a mofo. I was gonna play some God of War after this, but I think I'm too buzzed...

Nak strawberry, btw. It's good.

Awesome man! You're gonna love it! Kinda wish I'd gotten the big one, but decided to go smaller to save money and better manage the hookah since I usually smoke solo.

Yeah, you did well. I already own a 22" KM so I decided to get a big hookah this time. For special ocasions you know cool.gif

Nice! I'm getting a 30" or so KM next. Gonna be a while, though.

Man, put on a second round of coals with the Nak strawberry... John's coals this time instead of Cocos, which I always use.

John's coals are giving me thicker smoke, but with a slight coal taste, which I don't ever get with Cocos.

Got the second trays, hose, and windcover today! A day earlier than expected. Nice. Here are some pics:

The now complete setup:

The two different sized second trays:

The small tray on the AF:

The large tray on the AF:

And my friend's KM with the large tray (I gave it to him):

Noob question I know, but will my Nammor fir into the hose adapter on this pipe? I want to make sure because I am seriously contemplating one of these for my next hookah buy!

Yes, it should fit. My Narbish is tight, but once I get it in there it isn't going anywhere.

I get to smoke this bad boy tonight after work. My friend's gonna use his KM, and me my AF. Gonna be a hella good session!

Btw, before any of you KM guys flame me or my friend for the AF second tray being on his KM... After I put the second tray on mine and decided I liked the smaller one best, my friend commented that he now thought his KM looked naked without a second tray. So that made me wonder... Tried it, and it fit. The large one has a dent in it, and I'm never going to use it anyway. So I just gave it to him. I personally think it looks pretty good.

Hey guys, so here's the scoop on a problem I've noticed with my AF small solid:

As I said before, read a review on here that said the base was a tight fit with the stem. Got the hookah and found that it was - pretty much destroyed the base grommet that was on there. So I ordered a modern pyramid base from socialsmoke. To quote the review I read, the heart portion of my AF stem is 1.5", the diameter of the AF base is ~1.675". The pyramid base has a diameter of 1.875". I was worried it was gonna be too big, but I took the stem and new base to a local smoke shop and they fitted a new grommet over the half-destroyed factory one and the fit is perfect. Plus, with a pyramid base on it now, it's SUPER stable. Buddy of mine jerked the narbish and actually pulled it out of the port instead of knocking the hookah over.

Also, found out that my purge valve is really tight on there - I'm gonna have to take a pair of channel lock pliers to it tomorrow night to get the damned thing off. Should they be on there that tight?

Yep, I can't remove my purge valve by hand, that's for sure.
