mitchard
1) Letting your tobacco get used to the humidity of your area.2) Not all. Mainly just Tangiers. I have let Nakhla sit out and it has helped increase/decrease the flavor for me.3) Until it smells "right". It varies from flavor to flavor and area to area. Some people can't get Tangiers to acclimate at all.Post pics of your hookah!

twoapplesplease
Its only worth it if it works. And I know it won't work in some areas or if you do want it to work in some areas you can only smoke it at a certain time of the day wich you have to go threw this elaborate acclimating it for that time of day scenario. It does work great in alot of locations it also won't work in others.Unless you want to smoke in a four hour window.I have lived in the best and worst places to acclimate tangiers and thats also how it ended up smoking the best and the worst.supposidly lucid will work anywhere and I'm sure it does ,but thats like eating fat free sugar free ice cream it just does'nt satisfy.I hope with F-line being discontinued a new medium strength tangiers will emerge providing a decent buzz and no acclimation troubles. king_lunchb0x
thats some sound advice, i have yet to smoke tangier's yet, hope to try everything n anything..Another question popped into my head ( while sitting on the crapper of course) MY climate here can range from dry hot(two days ago was 95-100F) to cool windy humid(Today cloudy and 74F)What is ideal climate for acclimating, dry hot or cool humid or so on and so on?If the tobacco comes out of the box smelling pretty good should mean no need to acclimate right?I smoke Pharaohs Molasses raspberry, smells like raspberry...taste like rapberry ish type fruit substance.... I have ordered a few small boxes of al waha hopefully it will be betterthanks for the help so far and sorry for the ~20~ questions, i am a newb to hookah, i thought you just put it in the bowl and smoke it, no wonder i couldnt taste or get big clouds
delSol_si
Ok, now this is a legit question for once. I took me forever to figure out the answer. Every time you ask "what is acclimating?" Here are the responses you get:"its something you do to tangiers""letting the shisha get used to the climate""something that makes the shisha smoke better""a must if you want tangiers to smoke right""a pain in the ass""you need to do that if you want to smoke tangiers"or the famous "acclimating" (seriously)I think he wants to know HOW TO acclimate the shisha, not what it is.From what I understand(granted it took me MONTHS to figure this one out) acclimating shisha consists of:1. open the shisha2. let the shisha sit3. stir or mix the shisha every once in awhile (not sure how much, never got a clear response on this one)4. wait till it smells good and smokeOne other thing I have never gotten is after it is acclimated, I don't know if you can over acclimate it, or if you an seal it back up after acclimating, and if so, does it need to be acclimated again. I do not have answers to any of these questions as I do not know.I know I fail at it though.

This is very helpful explains what the hell im supposed to be doingOnly when you first get the shisha, or if it is smoking poorly. It is allowing the tobacco to get used to the humidity of the room you are smoking it in. Otherwise, it would taste terrible and smoke poorly. Like Del said, lay your tobacco out on foil, or in a tupperware container. Stir every hour or so, so that all of the tobacco gets exposed to open air at some point.
