Oops.. Found A Bad Coal Of John's

btw, not sure if you are talking about spontaneous explosions, i have yet to see that happen, but what can happen is picking a coal up with tongs and it breaks apart due to squeezing the coal, it feels like it exploded or popped but it just broke apart and yes, when that happens, it sucks. This happens with all coals at one time or another.

i've had CH QLs explode on me a couple of times...but, that's nothing compared to the dozens upon dozens of times the canarys exploded on me...

Ugh.. canary's.. those are horrible. I know a lot of people like them, but I bought some official canarys, not fake knockoffs, and they lit okay on my portable burner.. but they lasted like 10 mins.. and they gave off a sick taste. I know I lit them all the way through, they were red hot on both sides.. but they still gave off a taste I didn't like.

i like em....even Eric uses them at his lounge, so it can't be ALL bad...

I like them as well after Arcane introduced them to me. The heat management with Tang seems to be better, and there is less ashing than with CH QLs. I tend to have to re-poke holes with QLs because the ashing clogs the holes causing Tang to burn. I still use QLs with the non-Tang shisha because it is too easy to light with no taste.

I've seen this happen with every brand/type of coal I've tried. It sucks when it happens, no doubt.

And this is why when i smoke in the house I have a little roll out carpet I put under my hookah.

I dont know how many people are still using Golden QL's but those suckers used to DETONATE regularly.

I know it's an explosive, but a funny response to exploding coals. I think one of those guys dropped a firecracker on the coals when they left. One had his hands near the bowl. It was him! G'it 'im!
